Here is the pic again if you missed it. I blew another fuse on Friday when my brother in law flipped the heli on its side and didnt know how to cut the throttle. Bad news is that he broke a linkage so Im grounded for a while. Good news is I dont need another board...

I know I sould not have let him try but I was curious to see what he would do. Besides I thought I would have the zoom going by now.

P.S. The fuse was not my idea, I found it on the forum in a post ages ago.

It won't matter if its on the red or the black lead... its NORMAL to put it in the red lead. (all your car's fuses are in the + leads to the things they are associated with)

Both the red lead and the black lead see the same current at the battery connections and breaking either wire will stop the current... so... for this purpose there is no difference.

how did you make a holder to hold the fuse there is no point in soldering it on also why would it pop is it because suddenly a power surge would be sent up it and then it shall stop it or otherwise thank you.
FHHuber do you also have this system installed

I've put fuses in line in assorted electric drive systems. You go to radio shack (or some other electronics supplier) and get an in-line fuse holder. Buy the fuses at the same time and you'll be sure you are getting a holder and fuses that work together. You solder the fuse holder in the line and then the fuses are easy to replace.

The motor being stopped by something (the heli crashing on its sde and the rotor being stopped by the ground with throttle left on) reduces the inductive resistance in the motor. This allows the current in the motor to SUDDENLY rise as the motr attempts to draw the power needed to get moving again. The little 4 amp continuous rated motor suddenly tries to draw 10 to 25 amps. That high current will quiclkly destroy the electronics if you don't have a fuse in line to protect them. If it was using the old mechanical-resistance type speed control the motor itself would burn up befor ethe speed control. With the micro helis and modern ESC systems in cars and fixed wing electric models, sometimes its debateable which to expect to burn out first... the motor or the ESC. (either can burn out... sometimes both.)

It only takes a second to fry the circuit board from over-current. The fast acting fuse can prevent that.

If you have a good look at the photo, I have soldered the fuse holders on so that the fuse is removable...
It is on the red battery wire.

I reead on my pixi20p it says.... DO NOT INSTALL FUSE BETWEEN THE BATTERY AND THE ESC. THIS COULD RESULT IN LOSS OF CONTROL. it says to put it between the esc and the motor. I know on your stock jabo thats not an option but for seperates it is. this will help the same way rite?
