Hello,

I am interested how those of you with the dd tail setup have mounted the motor to your tail boom.

Any pics?

Regards

Crash.

i got my blades from my LHS. they are made by Hobbico and are for a micro AirPlane. They can only be used if yo do a DD set up like mine with the moter facing the other way. i believe these are them http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXTS21&P=7 i will verify when i get home.

Paint 'em. I use flat black spray after wiping the prop down with a bot of alcohol to remove any oils. Sticks OK, looks OK.

cant you just switch the leads from poistive to negative and negative to postive which will make it sopin the pother way also arnt there special props withe the curves the oposite way from tghe stock so the wind of them will go forward to counteract.
one last thing do theese help can i put it on the smartech aerohawk.

Thanks for the reply RickTran , I have noticed it more and more now that I can hover longer that the tail does not correct itself or over corrects I was thinking this would help. Was the motor purchased from helihobby ?
Also what about making a directdrive using the factory motor?
Wouldnt it actually work less and prevent premature wear?

Benzito,
I've bought DD tail motor from aeromicro.com. This motor is widely available thru various hobby shops.
I frankly donot think making a DD using stock motor would work because stock tail motor doesnt have enuff power/torque or it doesnt last long. However, there're reports of a very good tail setup using dual motors.

Justin,
Yes. Just mount it and fly ...
You might want to make minor gain/mixer adjustments to your liking.

Zeeshan,
For DD tail motor (EDP-50xc) you can switch wires & blades to make it spin the other way.
With helis tail facing you, blades with be on the right side for normal mounting.
With reversed wires/blade mount, it will be on the left.
Just remember that you need to reverse both wires & blade for it to work.
Lastly, lots of posts I've read that DD tail works fine with aerohawk.
BTW, I've just switched from DD tail to dual stock tail setup. Performance wise is about the same but dont know how long they last.
Regards
