The Optics are due to be released sometime in July so I would hope you would be able to get one shortly after then in your country. We are currently finishing up the manual so it should be available on-line soon. Until them I can answer any specific questions since I am using one of the pre-production versions in all my models right now. I love it!!!

Mike.

Is this Forum still open?

I am looking for a new radio, and was thinking about either the Eclipse, or the Futaba 7c. Then I saw the Optic 6, and it looks like something that would work well for me. I am looking to purchase a radio real soon, and was wondering when it will be released. Earlier posts said July. It is now July, can you be more specific now about its release date?

Thanks

We are expecting them to be available late July, early August.

The release date keeps sliding to the right. Is this going to continue? I got a couple hundred bucks that wants to be some where pretty quick.

It's almost September and no Optic 6's. I have an order in on one and a plane ready and waiting. Does anyone have any information on if or when Hitec will begin shipping these?

I really wish I knew. There was a whole lot of hooplah about this radio for a while and now it seems to have died down. I think Hitec may have made a boo boo by pushing it so much then repeated delays on delivery. I had some $$ set aside for it but got frustrated and upgraded to brushless motor and Lipo instead. Let me know if anyone hears anything solid on delivery date.

We shipped almost 200 of the #158721 standard systems in the last two weeks. They should be available soon, but a lot depends on where the dealer you ordered it from was in line to get them.

We are expecting to ship many more as well as the Spectra versions within the next couple of weeks.

Mike.

Mike,

Thanks for the reply. It's great to hear that they are really beginning to ship. I have the 158723 version on order. Since this is a Spectra version it sounds like it may be a couple more weeks. I am sure a lot of people are very anxiously waiting for their radios to arrive.

Thanks for the update!!

The model with 4 servos, no spectra, is listed as 'in stock' on www.horizonhobby.com as of 08/30/04. Guess that's where the 200 units went.
