Hello. I have the traxxas 2.5 EZ Start system. I tried starting the motor yesterday and the motor just spun. It was not rotating the crank on the motor. I suspect it's the one way bearing. Has anyone had any experience with this? How did you resolve it? Thanks.

Its one of two things, one the one way bearing is slipping on the reverse output shaft of the engine, or your one way is bad and it is just spinning.

I had the same prob, bought a new one way for like $18 bucks, turns out it wasnt bad. I guess the "Seals" in my old .15 are worn out and i have a tendacy to get oil on the shaft (from the motor) which causes the 1 way to slip.

i do one of two things, ive gotten good at takeing out the 3 screws and whiping off the shaft, (works every time) or i take a hair dryer to it which helps evaporate the oil/expand the parts so it grabs.

Then again it may only be a prob when i leave fuel in the thank... (havent noticed)

I used to get a lot of oil also....give it wipe down on the shaft.

I've also heard people drilling a very small hole in the back-plate for the electric starting unit and spraying WD-40 through the hole to clean out the debris.
