It seems like this is comparing apples and oranges. GWS is a manufacturer of model airplanes and accessories. Hobby-Lobby is a store and sells many different manufacturers and brands, including GWS radio gear.

I don't think it's a stupid question at all. In fact I was wondering ther same thing. But I guess it would be more accurate to say GWS or the planes that Hobby Lobby sells. I guess they carry brands like Scorpio and Flying Styro that seem like they would make for an alternative to a GWS. But doesn't Hobby Lobby at least have their own branded sticker of planes? I have a Hobby Lobby Telemaster. Is that actually a different manufacturer with the Hobby Lobby label on it?

In any case...I've been eye-balling some of those Park flyers on Hobby Lobby's website, and have been wondering if they be good planes to add to my hanger.

I think this would be a better question , compare the benifts and features of the products offered .
Hobby Lobby - Depending on the brand chosen withen the line most planes have excellant power .HL was doing electric before it was invented . They started in very succesful Graupner boats . Personally I dont know of a company with there expert staff and support .Alfa is one brand that is excellant scale , over powered per set up and a joy to fly . Price to value is somewaht high based on the fact that most planes are foam and will run you on avg $129 w/o gear however they fly well and wont disappoint you on perforamnce .Qualiy of foam is excellent in most kits offered at the high end . Consider these guys the BMW .

GWS - I consdier these guys the Value line , you can beat the prices and the quality is getting better . For example the Zero was one of the first releases, foam was oh wheel were ugly ect . There latest release -Corsair is much better quality as far as foam .The planes are so inexpensive taht they are worth adding brushless moters and fun scale detail . However some planes are a disappointment as far as "out of Box Flight " the A10 is under powered in the original release but being re-introduced with more power . If you go to Grand Wing Servo you can get to there China home page and see the planes fly . Its interesting because the A10 video was done off a cliff in very high wind , you cant even tell if the engines are running , seems like a slope glider . Any way you still cant go wron considering the cost to fun . I let my ids fly the Tiger moth and they can fly it like pros . You wont get the detail of Hoby Lobby but you will pay 50% less including the out of box motor . You cant go wrong with either company
