Any of you guys that have started photo from helicopter businesses are you actually making money?
I mean what kind of profits are possible with this or are most of you just doing a few jobs a month?

Would love to hear how it's working out

Been in the businesse for about 2 months now. I'm running 2 draganfly IV's. I have about $2500.00 invested. Made that back the first weekend of shooting. Right now I'm limited to shooting only Saturdays. I have made alittle over 10 grand in a about 40 hrs of video shooting and editing on my Mac and burning CD's and DVD's. You bet I think its worth it At this rate I will be quitting my full time job to shoot video 2-3 months I have 2 draganfly pro's on order now

I do work for 3 real estate firms. I give them about 1-2 min of finished video were they post it on their web site. I charge about $200.00 per home and I can do 5-7 homes a day. I'm also doing work for some country clubs (golf course work), contruction sites and Insurance. Now go make some money. The DF Pro can carry my own video equipment. I'll let you know when my web site www.aviewfromabove.com is done....going to franchise

Do you have business liability insurance? What happens if your ship crashes into a picture window or worse?

I'll be out about $800 for the DF. It will break apart before any window does.
I do have $250,000.00 insurance on my comapny

I've checked into liability insurance... and ALL exclude coverage for any piloted aircraft whether your in it or not.

The platform your using was 5K not more than a few months ago. Your saying they only cost $800 now? When and why the huge swing in price?

I admire your gusto!

I Do Not have the DF Pro. I have 2 DF IV's. I might get a pro in the future. I am also not using the camera supplied from DF. My insurance covers what I need to do. Listen, this is not a new thing. I know of about 12 compainies who are doing the same thing across the country. However most are using 60-90 gas copters to do the same thing. Talk about liability flying one of those guys.

A friend and I are getting a setup now.

What do you think about the Voyager E carrying an M1 Carbon mount from Airfoil.
I plan on using a Sony DSC-S75 camera.

What kind of video/photo equipment do you use for the shots, aviewfromabove? I figure a traditional digital cam or camcorder will be too heavy, but anything less will have poor quality.
