Status: offline 		The pictures relieve my fears. I thought I was going to have to butcher a lot of exterior to get the engine in and the muffler on. I might still drill into the motor mount to gain better position for everything.

When I am done, I will show pictures of the final product.

I'm visiting USA early next year and want to bring one of these Cessna 177 and Floats kits back with me.
If any of you still has the kit boxes intact, can you please measure them up and advise the box dimensions? (Length, Width, Height)
Need this info to 'bargain" with the airline about including it with my personal luggage. Info and your efforts will be much appreciated.

N.B. Unfortunately no one imports these kits into my country.

Status: offline 		Only 45x18x7 inches. Good thing is you wont have to worry about damage too much, no balsa to be crushed by the baggage handlers, quite a tough plane!!

Status: offline 		Woody 51 -- I suggest that you make arrangements for your Cessna a bit ahead of your departure from the states as most shops don't have them in stock. They will have to order them or you can order it and have it sent to your address in the states. ENJOY !!! RED

I will also contact Falcon Trading to see if they will UPS or Fedex one out to my address if the airline won't come to the party.
Looking at powering it with an MVVS. 77 or .91. Exactly the same dimensions as their .61, but LIGHTER. In fact their .91 is the lightest of the 3 at 19.5 ounces.

Status: offline 		The engine is in but I had problems with the muffler, again. The picture gave me encouragement and I had to modify the bulk head and the section to the rear of it. I will need to modify the section cut away behind the bulk head to enclose it when I am completely satisfied. It's amazing how much modifying one can do with these planes. Thanks for the suggestion on muffler ( I Fly Cooler's).

Now for the $60,000 question. Now that I am coming to a completion on this plane, does anyone have a suggestion on how to "easily" interchange the float cables so one can fly with either the floats or wheels? It appears the float cables are permanently attached and you have to cut the cable every time you switch. My first thought's are the brass sleeves will come off easily. Let me know, please.

Thanks for the suggestion on the muffler extension. I believe I correct the problem and I have to enclose the area behind the bulk head. A lot of customizing, but I believe it will have a happy ending.

You need to crimp and glue the brass sleeves in place, otherwise they will probably "come off easily" (or at least slip) when you don't want them to.

Instead of using the sleeves, use EZ connectors to hold the water rudder cables to the servo arm. Solder the very tip of the cable so that it doesn't unravel and just slip it through the EZ connector and tighten it down. If you don't distort the cables too badly when you tighten the connectors, they will still slip in and out through the guide tubes.

What sized Super Tigre is in your Cessna?
I remembered last night that I have an ST.75 and a. 90 stored in the engine drawer in my garage.
(I've been flying electrics for 2 years or so now and I've forgotten what glow stuff I had in storage. Time to do a stocktake I think.)

Status: offline 		On mine I just roll the cables up a bit, secure them with tape then tuck them into the fuse by way of the wing saddle. It's worked fine for me for 3 yrs or so. May not look the best but is sure easy.
On my Beaver I roll the cables up and tape them and screw the brass tube seperator to the fuse, the cables go inside in the bottom of the fuse.
On both of them I use the system per the instructions and they work fine. ENJOY !!! RED

How do you find the ST.75 and what size prop do you use?
My feeling is that for float ops, a .75 would be better than a .61. (I plan to have my model permanently on floats)
