June 18-20, 2004. The Valley R/C Flying Club will be hosting the the 20th Annual Ray Gordon Memorial Jumbo Fly-In. This is a AMA sanctioned event using the IMAA format for aircraft size. We are not IMAA sanctioning this year. Flying starts on Friday and goes through Sunday afternoon. A $10 landing fee will let you fly all 3 days. concessions are available. Primitive camp for RV's OK. Motel on site, others very close by. We will be having a bonfires on Friday nite and Saturday nites. Both nights we will be doing some night flying.

The Flying site is located off US Rt 11S from I-81 north or south take exit 243 and go to the stoplight. Take a left at the stoplight onto Rt 11 south. Go aprox. 3 miles south on Rt 11. The Valley R/C Flying Club field is on the left side across from the entrance to the Rockingham County Fairgrounds.

We have a 1000+ x 70 ft SMOOTH grass strip. We welcome all types of models. We have had Jets(ductedfan and turbine) fly here with no problem. Both approaches are very open. Plenty of room for that large twin or warbird.

Ask anyone who's been here they'll tell you they had a blast. Lots of flying, lots of hangar chat. Link to our web site with some pic there of past years jumbo events. http://www.geocities.com/vrcfc/

The Ray Gordon jumbo memorial is one event you should not miss, I've been attending with my son for the last 6 or 7 years. I haven't been attending that many events lately, but the Ray Gordon I wouldn't miss.
