I dont have personal experience with that motor, however it just sounds like you need to mess with the needles and get a nice blended tune on it. A buddy of mine was running that motor for a few days, but he says he was running it at like 310 degrees and couldnt get it running right. Didnt sound right to me but he sold it before i got a chance to look at it.

Those things like it fat on the bottom. It is an excellent race motor, but a pretty poor bashing motor. The reason is because it will heat up if sutained wide open throttle is used. You tune the bottom rich to cool the cylinder and tune the high speed for your throttle response and speed, and it tends to be a little lean to accomplish this. Since in a racing situation you are blipping the throttle a lot, the cool fuel when the RPMs drop keep the cylinder cool. A lot of RB guys tune like this too, but the Sirios have a three mixture adjustment carb (Low, Med and High) and the RBs have a two mixture adjustment carb(Low, High). The tune on the two, however, is very similar. If you tune it like an O.S., you'll give up and be very frustrated with the engine. If you tune it like it wants to be tuned, it is scary fast. P.S. don't tell anyone about this, as long as people keep thinking they suck I can buy them cheap

I am not an advocate of O.S. anything, so I would say use the carb it came with. Just have patience and tune it up. If you are using it to bash with, it is probably not the best choice. Stay away from hot plugs and try to use something in the medium range. Cold plugs may work during the heat of the summmer, but the engine will try and flame out if the plug is cold under ordinary circumstances. It is a great engine, don't give up hope. It is tuned like this because the designer of the engine ran RB Concept powerplants for a number of years. It tunes in very much the same way, and you can't tune an RB like an O.S., either. Find a local at the track who runs RBs and let him (or her) help you tune it. You won't regret it. I have an RB WS-7II for sale right now in the classifieds that I realized I don't need after the first full day with my new Sirios. And if you want to trade, PM me.

I just purchased the sirio .21--still in the box. I am trying to find out all I can on it and suggestions on how to break it in and what not. How long can I expect this engine to last?

from what i've seen of the Sirio's about a gallon
it will be fine for a while then suddenly temps will shoot up & it'll start flaming out all the time and running really erratically! then before you know it the compression will be gone
