BTW Futaba openly launched the 2.4 GHz radio program at the German 1:5 scale nationals they took 1, 2 and 4th place from all accounts it is now a FHDSS not a DSSS system as it had been. Gee I wonder how that was influenced.

Probably because there are only two methods in the off-the-shelf chipsets, and FHSS is the easiest to implement of the two.

How did it come about that Spektrum and Nomadio picked 2.4Ghz instead of 5.8 Ghz? Is there some reason why 2.4 is better for this application or was it that they both started before 5.8Ghz was common?

You have it way backwards FHDSS is much more robust and much more difficult to crank out. DSSS is easy as pie it took only a few days to clone the other DSSS system which is not very secure at all.

I do not know why all the R/C companies so far have chosen 2.4 GHz, Oh yes it is because the chip sets are in a price range to be able to make a product viabale.

What is everyone else running with their kits in terms of their servo set-ups and telemetry...was thinking about the temp and the speed telemetry, wish there ws a colour screen so we could put a small cam telemetry in there like the bomb squad version...then we could have some video fun and make some very interesting movies with the RC at a race. Race cam...

What are others running with the Sensor pack in terms of servos and telemetry...? I have some ideas but its good to have a wide opinion when outlaying a large wad of money.

My only vibe with the sensor is the screen. For this price range it would be good to have a colour LCD display to put other telemetry with the likes of a cam telemetry adn the likes. just a whim of course?

On my XP4 I'm using a Hitec HSC-5997TG for steering and a HS-6985HB for throttle with no problems so far. The only telemtry on the car is the temp sensor which I like very much because of the MIN/ MAX temps the Sensor stores during a run. I had the speed telemtry on the car once but my sensor/ trigger mounting left alot to be desired so I pulled it off the car for now.

So many choices. Is there more onroad or offroad in Japan? Also did they allow 2.4Ghz yet there?

I think 2.4 GHz is only available because the FCC has regulated that bandwidth for ground radios. It would be nice to have RC on 5.8Ghz, but if that bandwidth is not regulated to be included for RC, then it would take alot of lobbying by us (the RC interest) to obtain that bandwidth.

There are other open parts of ISM but the chips for 2.4GHz right now make it so companies can do R/C. And 2.4Ghz can be used in aircraft.

The guy with the futaba servo glitching, are you sure the wires are the correct order going into the plug? You can kill stuff otherwise.

Double questions...! Actually in hindsight, the best person whom would know this would be you actually.......... you would have access to most of the marketing info hence the allocation and distribution of units to various countries would be based on several assumptions, can they use it pro, mainstreem on various tracks and enthusiatics for bashing and what have you.

If you trust the situation, you can send them a money gram...but thats like bloody stone age business bro...? You throw a rock across the water with an attached animal skin with what you want to say and Ill throw one back with what I want to say and inbetween the 2 years difference we'll communicate...somehow. Well, Im sure it'll be faster then that though...
