Amen to that. I wonder if Dirby expects conference centers and hotels to give meeting space out for free, or parking garages to all be free? My taxes paid to build the airport, shouldn't I get to park there for free? Heck, churches often charge for weddings, don't they? Also, I think Dirby misses the point about the club membership. If you use the track more than 10 times a year, you save money with the membership. If you use the track once a week, on average, you have saved 52x2=$104 Subtract the 20 membership and you have saved $84 - like getting to use the track 10 times free at the full price! Here is a guy doing a favor, and it is taken as further insult. He gives you 2 choices - if you are only there once or twice a year, full rate. If a frequent user, a discount plan. A $20 annual membership fee sounds pretty reasonable (it is what our club charges, and is far less than many clubs I am aware of).

If the track owner does not charge for the use, how is he going to pay for:
original cost of the land
ongoing cost of the land (taxes)
cost of the track installation
cost of ongoing track maintenance and repair
future improvements?

I do not understand why Dirby thinks someone should give him the benefit of their investment and work for free, and why he thinks that charging for same is in some way wrong. Sure, it is nice if there is some philanthropist out there who wants to provide a service out of the goodness of their heart, and sometimes that happens. But, in general, "there ain't no such thing as a free lunch." You always pay somewhere. Seems to me, Dirby would be better off in the long run supporting his racing community, and look at the fees as a way of helping the guy maintain and improve his track so that he would have a good place to run, but, to each his own.

Just my .02, ymmv.

WOW. That is affordable, I was expecting somwhere around $1000. If the price stays around there I will probably pick one up. I am getting into flying and am going to use a Spektrum DX6 to start off, but I will need to upgrade to a better radio for bigger planes.

NS, any idea when the beta will be upgraded to the full version? When will be be able to swap between types of receivers from the radio?

Dirby, if that fee means that none of the users have to get out there and bust their butts maintaining the track, it might be a good thing.

Sorry dirby but, I agree with NS there...

But thanks for the advice about the antena tube... .

If I go to Tokyo it wouldnot be a problem as most of the good shops I go to and help support, usually have an excellent array of brands and choice.

Yet where i am at present, there is only 2 shops and they mostly stock all this "Hentai" Crap. Things like "Gundam planes and models" Cute little Gundam figures with very large XXX busts and faces like little girls - its a bit sick actually when you get into the psychology and the marketing of it all. When you see the demographics and spread of the taget market, makes your head spin with disgust.

Dirby what does this have to do with Nomadio? However here is my .02
You have a valid concern but he has a valid investment if he made a R/C track for only 6K it can't be much of a track. I invested 250K building my last facility, we charged to run on it for the same day fees you are asked to pay but the club was $40.00 a year which also got you 10% off in the shop. That money went to keep the rent paid so there is a track to run on. Also profit is not a bad word how much did your company invest in its product and how much do they charge? If the track is on public land then there are other concerns but if he owns the track it is his to charge what he thinks the market will bear, and you as a consumer can choose to support him or not.

If you make it highly programable, with condition based mixes, etc., the "Aircraft" version will probably be popular with the R/C Model Warship Combat crowd, particularly the Big Gun variant, as well. The DX-6 is already catching on.

One thing I have been looking for, (and the only radio I can find to do it is the MultiPlex Profi), is:
Assume a 3 channel mix. Assume Ch A and B servos with a 270 degree rotation, (fore and aft turrets), rotating opposite ways, with 90 degrees on each side being an overlapping field of fire(the sweet zone). Diagram below. Assume Ch C is a standard servo (gun depression). When the mix is in, if the A turret is in the sweet zone, the B turret ignores its control and follows A. If A is not in the sweet zone, B reverts to its indifidual control. What does C do, you ask? It changes the angle at which A and B come together, so that the more you depress the guns, the tighter the angle on the converging fire (not true converging fire, but close enough for me). See example of overlap due to this adjustment in second diagram below.

Thanks,

Wreno

Hi all people
I'm a owner of a Sensor in my country, Spain.
I'm very happy with this transmitter (only dislikes the non regulable steering spring tension)
In the las test I have made with my G4S, airtronics 151 servos, orion powered I los the steering power.
At a first moment I think that the steering servo is broken. But when I changed the old servo for a new one, it don't work also.
Once in my house, with a voltmeter I tested the signal pin of the steering chanel and the volt. read don't change when I move the steering wheel on the transmitter. I also tested the trothle chanel and this change between 0.12 ~ 0.40 Volts
I think that the steering chanel is charmed.
What do you think?

Best Regards
Octavio Traver

Spring there is an easy solution to adjust the spring tension.
Associated or Losi throttle return spring cut to the same length costs very little and takes less then 5 minutes.

NO it is not void because it is the same as changing the steering from right to left handed. Three screws. Just be gentle unplugging the pot wires on the steering hub. No big deal.

Okay allot of you know already, so I thought I would post what is going on. No laughing those of you who think I am already brain dead. I will be going in for brain surgery to remove a tumor; thus I will not make the Chicago show with the Nomadio React. Molzer Mowery Racing one of our OEM distributors will do the honors of the React release. Brian “Skinny” skinner will be in Chicago for Nomadio. So order up the React radio rocks! Just in case you are concerned the React is not my Omega R/C project

Thank you to the Chun Park and the Park family Hitec / Multiplex for all the help in the release of the new Nomadio React radio. I can think of no other company that lives up to their company mission statement. I am honored to count the Park family as friends.

I will keep up on the net forums but that is about it for now. If you need me kspindle@nomadio.net

Smooth Sailing,
Karlton Spindle
