Nick,
Actually, I'm the guy you need to contact. Send me a private email at roys@nomadio.net. We will be opening overseas distribution a few months after we get this thing shipping in the US, and I have applications from a number of Aussie distributors, so I can log your email and then have whoever we sign up contact you when they are ready.

Thanks
Roy

Noble,
sorry about the glitch in our ad - the magazine ran a week before we expected it to. We had the new web site nearly ready to go but we had to scramble when RC Driver hit the street.

The link and price are now fixed.

The preorder price is $499. Additional car transcievers are $99.

Re: Noble's questions...

The telemetry can be used to trigger the vibrator or sound in realtime, which gives you a "heads up" notification of things that you specify you care about.

Initially our software works with a laptop but we think there will be future enhancements to allow WinCE use, or even just capture telemetry to SD card.

The PC GUI will be pretty basic at first, but will be improved to match the tools used by pro racing teams. We plan to provide a basic level of functionality as a free update, and then a "premium" level that will be available at some reasonable cost. The beauty of a hybrid product like Sensor is that software can be developed in the future that gives it all new capabilities as long as the hardware can support it. We intend to vigorously expand the fun and scope of the RC hobby by providing that type of enhancement.

re: software updates - YES. Again even though we have been testing the Sensor very hard, we know there will be scenarios that we did not anticipate. The RC world is pretty big and there are so many servo/esc/battery combinations that it's impossible to test everything in the lab.

The entire system, including the transciever can be software updated via the Internet. We will be very pro active in providing these updates for free as needed.

Further down the road, we may charge for upgrades that provide new features. And there are quite a few interesting ones in the "idea box" already. We expect to get a lot more once a couple thousand Sensors are out there winning races.

I'm sure this question has been asked, but I haven't the time to read the entire thread.
Is a fuel sensor in the future for this product, is it possible?
Thanks

The Sensor sounds awesome. Roy/Dave, I WAS going to buy a new JR XS3 Pro (despite the fact that I'm a dyed-in-the-wool Futaba guy) but man, I may have to forego getting another couple cars like I was planning to get this sucker. As far as I'm concerned, anybody that complains about late release dates, I'll tell you the same thing I told people that complained about Halo2 and Gran Turismo 4 coming out (yes, I was disappointed too)-THEY CAN DEBUG ALL THEY WANT. you want a faulty device, go buy something from Hitec

I've wanted one of these things since RCX and drooled over the features, I'm a huge nerd and having a readout sent to my notebook out at a bash meet makes me shake but at the price of $499 it would be 3 months before i could get the money for one of these things.... i guess its passed me by... unless ray UPDATES about that GIVEAWAY ... i have a feeling its already done but come on.... help those of us who fell to our knees reading everylittle detail of the thing then the price sent us all the way down after i walked out of RCX this was the one item that stuck in my head for days, the Revo was "neat" the O.S. .18 engines were intruiging but this thing snatched me from the floor i can still remember the dark little booth and seeing the prototype... but my dumbass didnt get a pic of it i waited this time hoping it'd be within my range but this is far gone, part time employee full time student and i make minimum wage... priorities are priorities

stupid school....

All I can say is WOW!!!! I've gotta get me one. I was thinking Futaba 3PK, but now that I've read this thread(yes, all 212 posts), I've changed my mind, I'm getting a Sensor. Thank God for advertisements, if it weren't for them, I would have never found out about it. Roy/Dave, ya'll have given me a lot of great info on your new product. I just visited the site tonight and it says that you're shipping in April. All I can say to that is that I've got to save, save, save and get me one of these bad boys.

Roy,
I have one quick question for you. I was reading in earlier posts that your company had to devote all of it's rescources to the military for several months last year. Once the Sensor is released and consumers have purchased some, if that happens again will there be a devoted support staff to take care of support issues that arrise during those times? I understand that your main focus is the military, I'm just wondering about support for future owners if a situation like that does arrise again. Thank you for any info that you could provide to us regarding this.
