I'm new to MIMH and have charged up my 370 MAH pack with my ACE Digipulse being careful not to exceed the proper charging rates and times for the first charge. Everything went great and the voltmeter says the pack is holding it's charge great. Do I need to trickle charge it like NiCads?

I don't trickle charge my NiMh packs. If they sit for a while after being charged before being used, I'll do a C rate peak-off.

I had one 1000 mah 8 X 1/2A cell pack that tested out at having retained 95% of full capacity charge after sitting for 3 months.

I don't believe that NiMh self-discharge as fast as NiCd... and therefore I don't think leaving them on a trickle is a good idea.

Thanks for the info. I know the Digipulse is supposed to be good for NiMh too, but I don't want to wreck this new pack by overcharging. I'm not going to trickle it.

The self discharge rate for NiMh is basically the same as NiCds, and some manufactuers even show a slightly higher discharge rate for them. Lithiums have a very very low self discharge rate.
