The HS-5995R is a robot servo only so it will typically not be sold in the US. However, there will be a similar version called the HS-5955TG that will. It will have similar specs but the center will be wrapped in machined aluminum to cool the motor in high stess applications. There is no firm date on the arrival date of the 5955TG yet, but we will keep you posted.

TG= Titanium gear

Will the same servo arms for the 5945s fit on the 5955?

Ohh, I was thinking the 5995s are for RC airplane applications. Will the HS 5955TGs have the same specs as the HS 59995 robot servos?

Can you tell something about the 1:5 large scale car abilities?

As you might know the 5945 and 5735 have had great problems "surviving" our cars.

Is the 5995 (5955) able to act as steering servos under heavy racing conditions without biting the dust after a couple of minutes ?

We are working on a specific line of car servos that are designed to handle the larger loads which will be available soon. The 5955TG will also have a heatsink case and should work well in your applications as well. It won't be out for a couple months though.

Multiplex is also making a new big servo called the Ryno which is targeted directly at the 1/5th market. It too includeds advances that make it much more durable. More info here: http://www.multiplex-rc.de/

Hi Mike,

is there anything new about the 5995TG? when are the RC-versions shipped?
Does the RC-version still handle the 7.4V LiPo?

Thanx

The 5995's are now shipping. The 5955's are due in December, and although they use the same electronics as there 5995 robot servo counterpart we are still only recommending they be powered by 6V to be on the safe side.

But why?
The robot 5995 are allowed up to 8.4V, so 7.4 should be safe enough, or?
Tell me the secret
A collegue of mine is testing one (1!)robot in his 1:5 car for about 2 months now for steering. And he's quite satisfied. no breakdowns, no lack of power. Seems to be a really great product.

How much will they finally cost?

Robots don't come crashing out of the sky if there is a servo failure.

Will the 5955's work on 7.4V? Yes. However, we have not had enough testing time with them to be comfortable authorizing this voltage for the R/C market applications. They will still be the most powerful servos ever produced using 6V.

The street price in the US will be around $119 -$129.

So can the 5995TG be used in planes and if so they then on 6.0 volt only to be safe?

Yes, they can be used in planes and I would keep it to 6V for now.

I just bought 2 HSR-5995TG servos for a Custom Monster Truck Steering application.

What will the main difference between the HSR-5995TG and the 5955TG other than the aluminum heat sink?

Will it be an advantage to have the 5955TG over the 5995TG for my R/C application or will it be negligible?

What is the normal Travel / endpoints for a RC servo??

The only difference will be the heatsink case. So far our testing in 1/8th monster truck and buggies has shown that the heatsinks are not getting over 100 degree during extended use, so you should still be OK with the robot servo in that application.

The normal travel is 90 degrees where as the robot servo come at 180 degrees. You can modify this with the porgrammer or you can send it in and we can set the EPA to 90 degree for you.
