Hello

At the moment i need a good servo for racing. First of all what is actually better for racing, analog or digital? Obviously i dont wanna spend too much on a servo but if its a good quality servo that works well and will last please give me its name and perhaps somewhere online that i can buy it, whether it be analog or digital. It must have a lot of torque obviously and preferably a lot of speed aswell, im probaly willing to pay from 80$ to 140$+ (ive seen people pay a little for there servos and then they break and they end up wishing they bought the best). But preferably 80$ :P, can anyone offer any help?

Thanks
Alden

Hitec HS-5925MG and HS5645MG are what I use, with outstanding success. I don't know where they sit $$$-wise, though. I have a real bad habit of whipping out the plastic and saying "I'll take everything on page 45 of your catalog"

Is that their bargain line, the 600 series?? I've never used them. Are you using two 645s and they are both doing it, or just one or what???

using the 645 for steering. the 625 on the throttle is fine. just on the 645, when i turn left and it comes back its in one position, but when i turn right then it comes back, its slighty off where it was when i turned left.. i take it this is the "centering issue" ppl were on about

:S

Yeah, that's a centering issue.

if it only does that when the car is just sitting on the ground and not moving, then you don't have a centering issue. A lot of people think they have "centering issues" when they really dont. I bet your servo returns to center if the car is moving...

It is most definitely a centering issue. Hold it in the air on on the starter box, if it still does it than it is a centering issue.

If you reread my post, you'll notice that I said just because it doesn't return to center while the car is not moving AND ON THE GROUND then it doesnt necessarily mean you have a centering issue. However, if you're car does that when there is no restriction on the wheels, then you might have a problem with your servo, or maybe one of your linkages is binding or something. Just trying to maybe save you from buying a new servo if you don't really need one. Non-digital/non-coreless servos won't center as well as digital/coreless servos if the car is not rolling. The coreless servos have much more torque near center...

Okay, and if you reread my post you will see "Hold it in the air on on the starter box, if it still does it than it is a centering issue."
