DigiT -> best rock truck? (5/3/2004 1:42:43 AM)

My younger brother in law is about to grad from high school and his fam, and I are looking into getting him a rc truck as a gift.. He lives in mountians area so a rock climbing truck would be best..

I was wondering what everyone thought the best rock climbing truck would be... Where in the 250-300 dollar range. Thank you
B

hm that tough I would go with a clod or txt but they will cost alot mor ethan 300 to be a setup crawler.

What about a tlt?Im sure you can get a nice setup for under $300

DigiT -> RE: best rock truck? (5/3/2004 3:06:39 AM)

yeah txt 1 is the best and thats what we would like but cost little more than we have.. the clod is pretty ugly lol, any other ideas?

Element -> RE: best rock truck? (5/3/2004 3:10:21 AM)

stock of course its ugly but modify it and it becomes a work of art.

And yes they still make parts for the clod

I still think a tlt-1 would be the way to go

Does he already have a radio, battery, & charger? For that price range the TLT is probably the best bet.

DigiT -> RE: best rock truck? (5/3/2004 4:26:45 AM)

no this will be his very first rc truck, I kinnda want to get him something simple to use... I live out of state so I wont be able to help him out all the time..

vizaracer -> RE: best rock truck? (5/3/2004 4:46:29 AM)

electric it must be then. if its his first rc, he wont do good with a nitro.

Mxracer45 -> RE: best rock truck? (5/3/2004 4:50:19 AM)

If u do go nitro the XTM X-factor is the absolute best rock cralwer stock there is.

you mean best nitro crawler stock and at that RCA said the madforce was a better crawler than the xfactor stock vs stock because of the xfactors crappy tires.

nitro and rock crawling don't really mix well.Nitro motors cant reach the high rpms as fast as a electric motor making it alot harder and not as pleasing while crawling.

DigiT -> RE: best rock truck? (5/3/2004 4:40:31 PM)

well I think im going with the super clod buster from tower, its 209.00 not a bad price. It doesnt say what I need with it, so could you guys throw me a bone and help me out here again?

Element -> RE: best rock truck? (5/3/2004 9:25:54 PM)

A radio, reciever, servo, battery and charger is all you need.

All that will set you back about another $100-$150. The clod is a great pick and is the most common starting base for many crawlers[:D].
