All I can tell you is that I get about 8 minutes of flying on a 650mah nimh battery.

Haven't been in the hobby long enough!

Ok,
here is my math.
Dr Kiwi, check this out please.

2400 mAh =2.4 Amps per hour.
6 Amps should use up all the electrons in 2.4/6 hours ie. 24 minutes.
Perfect. I don't see any reason for concern.
