I have read a ton of posts using the search but i just cant seem to find a yes or no answer. So i have a plane that is rattle canned with krylon camo colors on the top. the bottom is some type of iron on fabric that is white and should aready be fuel proof i would think. I dont think much fuel spray would be getting on the top of the plane as the exaust comes out of the bottom near the middle of the fuse. Could i just leave it alone or should i put some type of clear over the camo like Krylon clear acrylic satin? and will this effect the decals that are allready on it.
Thanks

I would leave it alone for the time being. You can always put some type of clear over the paint if you see it being degraded by spent fuel. Just be carefull with raw fuel and try not to get that on the paint.

If i is gas, Krylon is fine, unless you let raw fuel set on it for 2-3 minutes or more. Spent fuel will not affect it at all. If glow engine being used, fuel prrof. Both raw and spent will eat it up.

It's glow fuel. The plane is a P-40 and the exaust exits out the back of the engine cowl. Is Krylon clear Acrylic fuel proof? or do i need to get something like Minwax Polyurthane.

Krylon is not fuel proof! Raw fuel which will get on your model no matter how hard you try not to get it on your model, will eat the paint and you will have a big mess on your hands. I'd use Chevron Perfect Paint spray cans from the get-go and save yourself a lot of trouble. Perfect paint is bullet proof and goes over almost every other paint or glue nicely. It is $10 bucks a can but worth it.

Here is what i did. The bottom is fuel proof so i left it alone. The top was fuel proofed with lustercoat clear and it looks soooooo good.
