My friend built a Pigi 3D and used the PJS1000 with an 8 cell 1700 (the setup from Hobby Lobby). I saw it fly and in my opinion it did not have enough power for extreme 3D flying. The airplane itself was capable, but it just did not have enough power. I just ordered a Pigi 3D and I want to build it with more power. I have used the AXI motors in other planes and they have been great.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to which motor and battery setup I should use to make the Pigi 3D more powerful than the setup described above, without adding much more weight?

Right now the best setup that I can come up with to meet my criteria is the AXI 2808 series motor and a Thunder Power 4200 11.1 volt lithium (which is two 3 cell 2100's in parallel). The motor weighs 2.75 ounces and the battery weighs 9.2 ounces.

Thanks

Use a 2814/12 with the 3s2p from TP and you won't be disappointed.

The PJS 1000 has plenty of power when used with 3S LiPo. I am using 2 different packs, one is a 3S2P TP 4200, the other a 3S2P Kokam 3000. The Pigi/PJS 1000 will hover and then accelerate straight up with these packs.

Later;

Im gonna use a 3S2P kokam 1500's. I was kinda dissapointed when my pigi couldn't hover with recommend power system from HL. (8Cell) Will a 3S really make a difference?
