Anyone check out Downonthedeck's website? It just closed, what a shame, that was one of my favorite sites.

This is F'ed up!!!!! DOD was my main 3D site to go to!!!! Somthing bad happened....there is a statement where the site should be saying his family was threatened. Pretty bad when the competition has to do this.

I believe the last 2 lines might indicate what happened. Although it would be hard to believe. You never know though.

I recently got banned from DOD even though I had never posted. Seems as though my name (real name = screen name) did not set well with Joe. So I asked ****, he replied with a phone number, which I called. I got the banning worked out and heard the short version of a bizzare story. Don't bother asking me to repeat it here, in email, or PM. I won't. Just that something is weird going on. I wouldn't be surprised to see it back up after the details have been worked out.

Were you asked not to tell? I just read in the other (of many to come I imagine) DOD thread what Joe posted. Forum competition aside, aren't we all a family of hobbyists who should support each other? Can't wait to hear what the whole story is.

I know Joe has had "forum issues" in the past, however, I thought he had gotten past all that. Its a good site, albeit biased to his latest sponsers, but still a good site. I am sure he'll have it up and running again.

No, as far as I know it's an ongoing issue, but I'm not gonna spread any rumors. From what I understand, it's a story that has been circulating but I don't know how to or care to verify or refute the story either way, it's not that important to me.

This is nuts! I'm definitely in the dark here. Death threats over RC planes? DOD was my home away from home. Now some wacko has ruined it. Seems like there's always one (or more) in every crowd. Some people just can't stand seeing other people enjoying themselves. I'd love to help, too, but I don't even understand what's happening here.

DOD made my first 1/4 Scale what it is today. I would have been lost without Joe's site. Its a shame when politics(MONEY) can control a hobby and it enthusiasts to this sort of extent. I dont know what I will do without DOD, but IT and JOE will ALWAYS have my support. I appreciate the fact that noone is spreading any rumors, that is not what we need right now. Mr. Joe Hunt has touched many lives and made the hobby a much better experience for many, my heart is with him.
