I just bought a Magnum .91 four stroke and I am wondering if anyone who has Magnum f.s experience has noticed a difference in the "older" style vs. the "new" style. By new style I am refering to the crank case breather being located on the right had side of the crank case just behind the cam gear housing, and an inlet nipple for the breather hose to recirculate juice back into the carb intake pipe. Is this a good or bad change? Should I run it the way it was intended, or plug that carb inlet and just vent the crank case the old fashioned way? I haven't even mounted it on the test stand yet, but I did attach the supplied tubing from the breather to the carb-side inlet. Thanks for any help or advice.

My Magnum 120 is this way. It runs about the same the best I can tell whether the vent is hooked to the intake manifold or vents to the atmosphere. My 91 is of the second generation but it has the vent on the bottom.

There is less mess on your plane to keep the vent connected to the intake.

Enjoy,

Jim
