Status: offline 		Ok, I have been torn about what LW plans/ kit etc.. to get. I haven't built from plans before and i have to start somewhere and i cant imagine it to be extremely hard to do. I've looked at the 190's Holman offers and the meister scale's which really look nice, i really like the ziroli stuka, but i also like the PCM 109. I have worked with foam wings once and the wings came cut out in the foam blocks, *old Q500*, does the PCM 09 have the wings cut form the foam already or do you have to do this yourself? Any help/ suggestions on how these build or anything are greatly appreciated.

Status: offline 		PCM 109 by far! it is not really a beginners kit for sure
the wings, and tail feathers are foam cores, you sheet them
and cut out for flaps/ailerons and elevators. I have been
working on mine off and on since December of last year.

it builds into a GREAT 109! it all depends on the detail you want
to add, as to how long it takes to build. there is ALOT of work to
do in building in, even though it is a glass fuse, and foam wings,
you still need to do alot of planning, and measuring etc. to get
it all dialed in correctly.

I will hopefully be adding paint next month? we'll see, the more I
build, the more detail I add

The Meister planes will probably be the easiest build. They go together like giant sport planes.

If you are looking to expand your horizons, I really like my Holman D9, so much, that I have a second one sitting here ready for construction. The kit is good, but there is plenty to figure out on your own.

I've been watching Burl build his PCM 109, on rcscalebuilder. It looks like a good one. Todd is going crazy on the detail.

Dive in. You'll enjoy building one of these three.

If you head up to Traverse City, for a weekend getaway, I'd be happy to show you my Holman D9's and answer any questions that you may have.

Status: offline 		I have made my decision . Im going to buy one of the Meister's. Now the question is which one? The 109 or the FW, also on his site it offers short kits and full wood kits, are they well cut? or should i look into someone else that can cut the kit for me?

Thanks guys for the suggestions so far and all the help . Yah Tom i may be heading up that way in a couple weekends ill let yah know. I'd love to see the 190's.
Also i saw in one of my mag's that there is going to be a show at the CARDS field i believe it said June 5th and 6th anyone have info? Will any of you guys be attending it?

This is a link to the CARDS. I'll be at the July show. The one in June is a Warbirds meet. Should be a good one. The facility is first rate and so are the members.

Eddie, I hope you make it up this way. If you have time, bring a plane.

I built the Meister 109. I didn't have any problems. I believe all Meister designs build tail heavy, so build yours with that in mind.

I bought the kit directly from Meister. It has a precision Eaglet 4.2 for power. No flaps, as they are not needed. I used Perfect Paints. It has Robart retracts, but they don't fully retract into the wing. CJ's should. Weight is around 30 lbs.

Status: offline 		Ok after looking at teh FW and the 109 im going to chose the 190 to build first , im sure ill buy another one once i finish , not sure about what series i want though, i like the short nose of the A but i also like the D9 . Guess it's personal preference . Ill be placing the order hopefully within the next month or so. Need to finish the kits ive already started working on and hten clear out the workshop for this beast Thanks for all the info/help on helping make my decision

I am in the final stages of my Meister 190D9, as you this was my first build off of just plans, there is some directions on the plans themselves. I had a few hangups along the way, but there is plenty of help on this and other sites that helped me thru it. I would suggest looking thru these sites as there are some things that you need to decide on. The main thing is that I don't know of any retracts and wheels that will fit flush in the stock wing without some modification of the wing. There are several options to remedy this if you want them to. I really have enjoyed building mine so far and think its a good choice.

I think the D9 would be easiest to balance. The longer nose helps. On initial check, my Holman D9 was actually a little nose heavy! That's a first ever on a Warbird for me.

I think Ty Brown has, or will have templates for a thicker wing on the Meister 109. You can contact him here or on rcscalebuilder.
