As long as the weather stays good we will have a good thrash about over the weekend.

Not thought about the 6x4 Bycmo for a while.

These cars were fine during the winter but now they cut out after 5 mins dus.

Going to drill the chassis to get more air into the motor.

hi ian
couldnt you cut the windows out
say all the side windows or just both the front doors
and the grill and then get some mesh from b&q and hot glue it in place
instead of drilling the chassis??

Yo Dus, was going to update,

It's ok having cooling on the shell, do usually cut a vent in the front window and side window.

The chassis should now cool the motor a lot better, will put a pic on.

Last time it was used we used 2 4600mah packs back to back, so cooling seems to have worked.

Want to look into Lipos, trying to decide what to go for, we need 7.4v 2cell packs.

Will put some pics up and read your truck forum posts and report back.

hi ian
here is the truck and reefer trailer and the F350
on a trailer

the road layout is all owned by a guy called ant
he said it cost about £500 for a set of traffic lights as they
all run on pressure sensors

Ah right, I remember you saying about someone who has their own large layout.

Are you going to buy them then?

Ok, well been a bit busy,
Got a version 2 speed controller for the lads car because the version 1 wasn't as fast, the fan didn't spin fast enough and the version2 also has more programming options.

Not finished yet.

Drilled holes to cool the motor as it is in a bad place for cooling, it already had a motor heatsink.
Got a bigger motor cog too for both.

Few pics:

Mine is perfect now with the added speed controller heatsinks.

Version 1 and version 2

hi ian
you could drill the whole of the chassis
it will make the car faster and lighter
but you may loose all the strength
as its a plastic chassis

here is a link to the peak truck show
http://scaletrucks.bb3host.com/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=1382
i was going to take the bycmo
i put it on the bed
then i forgot it at the last moment
im such a dumbass

That's identical to ours dus, the motor position, the battery position and  the propshaft.
Might have a bid on that.

Hi all

I have just won one of teh Bycmo Subarus on ebay for the princly sum of £14 including delivery for the car and virtually all the magazines.
Some of the upgrade options have been fitted while some are still attached to the mags. At the moment I only seem to be missing one of the upgraded wheel sets (issues 47, 49, 52, and one other). Has anybody got one they would be willing to sell?
Also, if I want to upgrade to an esc how do I work out which would be suitable? For example is this one OK? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/EL-Model-RC-Car-300A-Motor-Speed-Controller-ESC-SE089-/270642609689?pt=UK_ToysGames_RadioControlled_JN&hash=item3f038e7e19

Thanks for any help

Vince

Whoops also need a front transmission upgrade from issues 51 or 53. I think the rear ones are teh same so that would be issues 46 or 48
Thanks
Vince

hi vince
welcome to the forum
you could ask ian78 if he has any bycmo wheels
or you could always upgrade the hex hubs to 12mm hex hubs
that way you can run any wheels you like (like tamiya, hpi ect)
as far as the esc goes i dont see there being much of a problem

hope that helps

Sorry for late reply, been busy.

Vince, buy these to fit the normal 12mm hex wheels:  http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/12mm-Drive-Hex-Hub-Wheel-Aluminium-Yellow-x-4-Pins-/330451510329?pt=UK_ToysGames_RadioControlled_JN&hash=item4cf071e439

With the electric speed controller we ran these Tamiyas for ages, running an 18 turn motor at one point and it just ran till the battery went.
With the 18turn motor we did fit some extra heatsinks, never had any overheating probs.

Welcome to the site too

Tamiya:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Tamiya-TEU104BK-Teu-104bk-ESC-RC-Cars-NEW-/360375489586?pt=UK_ToysGames_RadioControlled_JN&hash=item53e80d9432

Try to get hold of the uprated white cogs instead of the black cogs, there is a major difference to top speed.
