I have run about 8 gallons of FAI fuel in my Moki 1.80. It actually seems that the compression in getting better the more I run it. This is the most powerful, reliable engine I have used so far. Some other club members have had some bad luck with them and told me I bought a piece of junk. They are starting to change their tune when they see very powerful and consistent runs on my cap 232. I started making my own fuel recently to save a little money because as everyone knows the Moki loves fuel! I buy methanol at a local race shop for $1.40 a gallon. He sells it out of 55 gallon drums and I can buy 1 gallon or 50. Since this was my first time mixing my own fuel I went on the conservative side and mixed my first gallon at about 25% castor. Boy did she smoke! I have since mixed a gallon of 15% castor. I have run about the whole gallon with great results. Some people have said I should use synthetic oil but I have decided that castor is the way to go. I know it will get gummy but I plan to disassembler the Moki every Winter and clean it up. I figure it costs me about $7 a gallon to make my own fuel. Since I burn about 2 gallons a week this will be great savings plus I know exactly whats in my fuel.

I agree with you . I also get my fuel this way with my group of friends and works out cheaper. I use 20% castor but with smaller engines.

If i do not run engines for a long time ........ flush the engine with alcohol and oil it with light machine oil or equivalent.

I HAVE A MOKI 120 THAT I HAVE HAD FOR 6 YEARS. THIS ENGINE RUNS ON 5%NITRO AND 18% CASTOR/SYNTHETIC MIX. GRANTED THE CASTOR IS MESSY BUT WHEN YOU TAKE THE ENGINE APART IT LOOKS LIKE NEW INSIDE. MY OPINION IF IT AIN'T BROKE DON'T FIX IT.
