I need to figure out which one of those two brushless motors is better for the Corona. I see that their specifications are similar but not the same the Astroflight max RPM is 30,000 while the Mega is only 19,000. Which one of those will have more 1. |Power, 2. Flight Duration, 3. Reliability. If there is anyone that tried both. Please fill me in on which one I should be picking up.

Thanks,

Paul

I haven't tried both, but I use the 16/15/3 and love it. On another site (ahem!), there've been some posts about the Astro Flight motors failing catastrophically. I'm glad I went with the Mega.

Thanks for the quick post. It seems like the reliability of the Mega might be better. How about the power and flight duration between two?

Again, I've not flown the Astro. With the Mega, I get about 12 minutes of hover with an 8 cell 3300 pack.

I just did some more searching on both the Mega and the Astro motors. One of the descriptions say that the Mega provides about the same power as the stock Fusion7 but with more flight time. I also ound a thread where someone tried both and said that the Astro had slightly more power than the Mega. I believe he said that the Heli would take off at slightly less than half throttle on the Astro and slightly above half throttle on the Mega. If I'm going to upgrade to brushless, I should get the best motor right away since I dont want to upgrade again later. Any suggestions are greately welcomed.

My Mega gave me MUCH more power than my Fusion motor. I'd say I hover right arounf half stick, either below or above depending on battery time. Like I said, I've read a few posts about the Astro motor case breaking, but no physical failures of the Mega. But, go with your gut feeling on this one, it's your dough...

Neither the Mega or Astro was availabel locally so I ended up taking a hit and getting the Hacker C40 12T. It was expensive but its supposed to be the best so I wont have to upgrade later.

Crapppppppppppppppppppppppppppp.... not again... another mistake...

I just bought a complete Corona with a Astro 020 brushless... this suk...

So the astro motor case crack??? what the? I only heard that some have problem with the seizure thing... The Astro suppose to provide a little bid more power then the mega I know that.

Anyway, I went to Astro because the motor look more wacky then the mega.. ... Look more high tech i guess i should say...

Freak,

I'm not saying that it's a sure thing. You'll probably not be an unlucky one who gets a motor that breaks. It's just one of theose things where it might happen. So, just enjoy what you've got and thrash it all you want. I'm sure it will be fine...
