Does anyone know what has happen to Enya.....? I have written the distributor and received no answer for over two weeks... Are they still in business? No one in Birminham likes to sell Enya due to lack of service and high prices... I have three... good engines ..... with no local support and now no national support... How do you get them to answer an email if they are still in business? Thanks

I don't know about the high price; you can get an Enya .50 ringed at our local shop for $99.95. Haven't seen anything about Enya going out of business; they make an excellent, very long-lasting engine...

as far as i know they are still going. the problem in the US is the lame-ass distributor that gives next to no support and only deals with a small part of the whole enya line. it may be a littlt expensive but everything you need can be bought through UK and australian dealers.

Dave, (ZAG)

I have had very good support from the distrubutor in the US. Are you refering to Altec?) What is your Beef that you can call them ""Lame ass"? I have had all questons answered promptly and the parts I have needed were provided. Please elaborate.

Richard, Spivey used to sell Enya's, ((Many moons ago)) I know of no one else these days in The Birmingham area.

I have noticed that very few RCM/MAN/MA vendors sell Enya's. Why? I don't know.

ZB,
maybe enya is the real dumb-ass for not finding a better distributor for their largest potential market....if quality means anything then they should have higher US sales than OS but they don't. i predict that enya will soon be gone if they don't make some drastic changes in this area

and try to get altech or MRC support for a model they no longer import...their common response is that if they don't import it then it doesn't exist.

for the single enya i own i've managed to buy some spare piston/cylinder sets for the future when enya will no longer exist but i doubt i'll ever need them as the originals are a loooong ways from dying.

I love enya engines and own close to 20 myself. I have nothing put praise for the metalergy. quality and value. I had many questions about parts, product line, availability etc. At toledo the reps ignored me and only talked to heli guys ar played to the simulator crowd. These are popular new products they were hawking but I want their attention too. Perennially the have been somewhat removed from the modeler. There used to be a direct support forum on this site that had to be removed because it was ignored by the representative.
The attitude that indicates to the public does not make me anxious to deal with the company. If they didn't make such an excellent product I wouldn't.

I have written the Enya distributor and have not received an answer... A guy can sell me one but can he provide service... It is the lack of service that indicates the lack of committment Enya has in the USA... No service, no person to person assistance...No Enya in business... Too many other good companies selling quality engines to deal with for we the customer to worry over Enya... As for the dealer in Birmingham, Al. He sells Enya's but has little support or parts on hand...

With any luck, Enya will recognize the issue and seek out a different distributor when the contract with MRC/Altech runs out. Perhaps it's time to initiate a letter-writing campaign to the Enya factory overseas.

Enya may not know or care. As an example, TT bought out ACE and service went down instead of up. Some model companies are just in the model business as a sideline to their major business. Enya mostly does foundry and machine work for other Japanese companies. Futaba's main business is industrial controls to include industrial radio control. I think TT is in the toy business. Even here this is often the case, Fox makes most of its money the same way Enya does, as a contractor for industrial machine shop work. So in many cases the model business end is ignored till the hobbyest/owner has time to bring attention to it. In this regard a letter writing campaign may do some good.

I just talked to Carol at MRC, she said that, any questions concerning Enya Engines or Engine service give her a call at -732-225-6360, she seemed eager to be helpful.

Does Carol at MRC have an email address that she will answer with technical support information? or do they only discuss issues over the telephone?
