gamaray, you'll love them colors in the air. Really looks good against a blue sky. I need some smoke for mine ASAP.

Begun the painting of my newly-constructed Balsa DR1, modeled from Ernst Udet's of Jasta 4.

Cool scheme, but way too much taping!

Yes, I thought it would be quite visible airborne. I just learned that underneath the horizontal stab also had blk/wht. striping. Ugh!
Of course I'll be streaking that brown, as its simply the base color.
Using PPG DBC basecoat. Great stuff!

Del, have you spoken to Glenn recently? I'd like to purchase the dry-set marking from him.

Yep, stripes everywhere......They're on the bottom of the top wing also. It sure takes a lot of masking, but it's very much worth it in the long run. I used Sante Fe Tan truck touch up paint for my base coat for the streaking and used latex enamel for the streaking, I got a color chip from Glenn and had it matched at Lowes.
Yes, I keep in regular touch with Glenn, I'm building the prototype for his 1/3 scale Dr.1

Shoot him an email to see if he has the transfers in stock.

Hello all you Fokker people,
Any info on the VK kit sold by proctor? I have one staring at me in the work shop. How do they fly? I don't want to build the next museum scale project, just a good looking flyer.http://www.proctor-enterprises.com/products/vk/dr1/dr1.htm

Well, dont know about all their kits. But I have the Proctor Nu 11 and it flies great. Very scale and handles even better for a WWI plane.
