1. I have a problem to balance Fokker DR-1 BUSA.
When I check balance in the top wing when the C.G location, the plane parallel to ground, indeed this is good when
You flying trainer but not good for the Fokker.
As far as I understand, I need more weight in front of the plane ????!!!!. If is this so, I will need about 1/2 kg (1.10 pound).

2. Engine installation.
How I can set the engine at 4 degrees down thrust and 3 degrees right ????
For do so, I need use metal disks or some other material ???
As for now, I used tough plastic / donag and Its cause trembling in the tail.

Thanks,
Ofir

Ofir......I balanced mine according to the plans and it flies great. As for the down and side thrust, I didn't use any, although I didn't mount the stabalizer per plans, I set it at about 2 degrees positive incidence.
I have the OS 160 Twin with an 18-8 prop and it flies great at half to two thirds throttle.
Good luck

Thanks Del but I use Zenhoa 26 in my case, and I just don't know if I need more weight in the front or not......
I need someone who used same engine like I do. And also install it with down thrust.

I would say that as long as it balanced according to the plans, it wouldn't matter what engine was used.
Since I've never used down thrust, I don't know about that?? Maybe just using a little down elevator trim would be sufficent??

Here are just some of the DVIIs from the Oregon Dawn Patrol this weekend. I don't remember the pilot count but there were over 50 aircraft on hand for the event. One of the many highlights was two DRIs taking on FOUR Sopwith 1-1/2 Strutters in the air at the same time.

PS Racer_X:Thanks for the after-flying Guinness.YUM!

I picked up a Balsa USA Dr-1 1/4 in a trade. The guy gave me with it what he said was a Quadra 35. He acted as though it was on the plane and been flown with it. It has been sitting around for a while. For the past 2 weeks I have been hooking everything up and I after some mix up I have found that the engine is a Quadra 52. I have it all hooked up and set up... Just finishing up. Found out the sz of engine when ordering the Muffler from Bennett Built had his Spring starter on it. The question: is this going to be too heavy for the front. I'm not worried about the power being too much just the weight?

Bull-rcu, That sounds like way too much engine. Does it balance OK? How about the fit? It seems like that would be somewhat of a shoehorn. These planes take a lot less power than you might think. I have a Saito 180 in mine and it is overpowered but it is quite small compared to the gassers and I am able to have a scale cowl on mine.

Wow! I have a "G-26" on mine.
My guess is your going to have to add alot of tail weight in order to balance it. Plus I don't think the airframe is designed to handle that kind of weight and power.
Also, Knowing the flight characteristics of the plane, I strongly suggest keeping the plane as light as possible.

I have a 26cc SPE and a 40cc brison I could use... Sucks because I got the plane with the engine and was sold as thought they were matched and flow before... LOL will probably have to find a plane to mount the 52 quadra on....

I would go with the 26cc. That is what the plane was designed for. It would be interesting adding tail weight to a ww1 warbird though! I was lucky with my tripe and did not have to add any weight at all.
