Bull,

The Arizona 1/3 scale triplane I saw was something I wouldn't build. It has some nice parts in it but it is basically a copy of the Redfern full scale triplane in 1/3 scale. The fuselage was 1/4 inch alum tubing which you had to get together either welding or epoxy.

There is a set of plans for a 1/3 scale triplane you might watch for, I think Ron Weise did them. The same guy that did a 1/3 scale DVIII and a Fleet I believe. I have seen they on Ebay every now and then.

Here is my attempt at rebuilding a 1/4 scale DVII that was hanging in a musuem in Canada 20 years ago. It was scratch built to VERY exact scale. Pull pull everything. Wing even has the correct cable and pully set up inside for the ailerons. Fully funtional cockpit. 5 color fabric covering has been a challange to repair.

I will try to put a few pics up. I want to have it ready for first flight around the 15th of Feb. That gives me 2 weeks for tune up flights before the fly-in. Still need the guns from Arizona Models, hook up machine guns sound effect, build top of controll stick, and find a good (light) full figure 1/4 scaale pilot. Other than that, a few tweeks and its ready to ballance. Jeff

It is a prop for scale only. But the company that made it can make any size, including full size props, that you need. http://www.clarkindustries.on.ca/index.html
Try that address, and look off the the left side of the page. Jeff

I talked to the 2 guys a proctor. A really great place to do business with. The scale pilot that they have is on order, and should really be neat to add to the plane. Flight pics soon, and perhaps I can get someone to fly the Sopwith Pup at the same time. That would make for a great photo.

Now that we've gotten all moved in and my new building room set up, I'm finely getting back to work on the D8
This is the first time I've done the cloth and dope covering. It's not turning out too bad.
How's all those winter Fokker projects comming along??

St. George Utah Fun-Fly. Man there were a lot of great planes there. Here are just 3 pics. There were DVII's DRI's DVIII's Sopwith's and many others. JEff

I flew the DVII for the first time with the US 41. It needs a LOT MORE power. the 28 pounds that it weighs is just to much for the 41, but I have a 3W 60 that has twice the horsepower. Now that should make things jump. It Flew with the us 41, but never got to more that 15 feet high. Scary turns and down wind was knee shaking. I was happy that it tracked straight on the roll out, and throttle up to lift off was right down the center line. But it was a looooonnngggggg roll down the runway before it took off. But the smile on my face after its first flight lasted all day. Jeff
