Just curious to see if anyone uses the Cam 2 102 octane in their gassers. It smells and seems to run great , just wondering if it does any harm to the motor. I didnt notice any differnnce in performance because the octane level is not of any benifit in the 50 cc gassers. I know it is expensive but the smell is sweet and doesnt give me a headach like regular unleaded fuel.

Bas,
Cant say for the engines nowdays, but in 1948, we used to run 105 octane (mil spec) in our
Harleys. What a boost. The other side of the picture (engines then) the radial engines we overhauled
P&W and Wrights, had Sodium cooled exhaust valves to help with the heat developed by the extra
octane, which the bike engines did not have. Had to replace the exhaust valves in the Harley in six
months after useing the 105 juice.

105 AvGas is about the same octane as 100 Mogas so 102 Mogas may be higher octane than 105 Avgas. Not a huge differance, but?
