Here is the Little Toni just before touchdown. We flew it this weekend at a local event and it was a real crowd pleaser!

The 20-cell CP2400 NiCd pack is being upgraded to a 6s4p configuration of ElectriFly 1500mAh Lithium cells. This will provide a 1/2lb drop in weight while increasing the flight duration by 2-1/2 times.

Be sure to check it out at the upcoming NEAT Fair on September 17th, 18th, and 19th.

Hello Greg, how has the Electrify parallel configuration held up?

Wow! This thread is a real blast from the past.

Here is the date stamp from your quote of me...almost 2 years ago.

Much has happened in electric flight in those 2 years. In short, to answer your question, I still have some of those packs but no longer use them on the Lil Toni. After burning up two Kontronik 600 motors, a few ESCs, and one Lithium pack, I decided my Lil Toni needed a new power system. On the photo of my new motor mount holes, you can see the scorched fiberglass from an ESC flameup in the air. The smoke billowed out and looked really cool! Fortunately, this racer wasn't made from balsa and we were able to land with servo and receiver power from my UBEC.

Essentially, I doubled the power to about 2000 watts so that I would only use about 60-75% of the total power. This provided a ballistic pylon racer without stressing any of the components in the power system. My new BalancePro HD 2p6s 6400mAh Lithium pack could deliver 128amps continuous although I only draw about 80amps at full throttle in the air. The new Lithium packs have taps for balancing on every charge and a Discharge Protection Module for monitoring each cell during flight.

My new super-charged Lil Toni will be at the 2006 NEAT Fair on September 15th-17th and we hope to have a demo with Dan Landis' Minnow in a mock pylon race.

Thanks for the update. I realize the thread is old, but I'm just getting into lipos and wondered how long I can expect them to last; especially when paralleled.
