This is the first time I have posted to this forum, so I hope this thread isn’t misplaced. I had posted a link to a website where I have (r/c) crash videos stored as well as others I’ve made. Well, it turns out the most popular video is one entitled “Ed’s Story” because we can all relate to it one time or another, to some degree.

“Ed’s Story” is about 6 minutes long and was made to be shown at my clubs annual club dinner this past year. Although it was conceived for our club, I just thought you guys might enjoy it. Let’s hear your version of this story (admit it, you’ve done something similar at least once).

www.cante.neptune.com
Now for the technical (& troubleshooting) jargon:

You can view directly from the website or you can download it to your hard drive and save it. You can download it and share it, I just request that you do not edit it and pass it off as your own (give credit where credit is due).

Most people can view the movies without any problems. If you have trouble watching the videos there may be three primary causes and they could be:
A) Your Firewall or Internet Security software may have Pop-Up Blocking enabled; you will need to disable it temporarily
B) You may need to use Internet Explorer 5.0 or higher to view or:
C) The site uses Macromedia software to play videos, you may need to update or install Macromedia player

That's pretty good!

There's nothing quite like the feeling of arriving at the field and suddenly realizing you've forgotten some important piece of kit...like a transmitter, wing.....field box

The one non-r/c video you refer to is the result of a friends request. He wanted to apply for the cast of the upcoming “The Apprentice 2” t.v. show. You have to submit a video resume’ to apply and the video couldn’t be more than 10 minutes long. So the night before it had to be submitted we shot the video, edited it and sent it out.

The other video you refer to with the dog, “Bad Zak” is nothing more than a look into what pets do after you leave the house. Actually the reason for filming it in the first place was that my wife and I suspected Zak, our male dog, of pulling things down off the counters and shredding them on the living room floor when we weren’t home. We kept punishing him but it didn’t stop so we began to wonder if it was our female dog. The only way to prove it was to film it.

The result was a peek into the hidden world of pets when you aren’t home. What fascinated me was that I thought he got into trouble after we were gone for a while and got bored, instead he started his mischief as soon as I pulled out of the driveway!

Other than them, the other video are basically from fun fly’s my club ran last year.

That was hilarious! I laughed so hard, because I was in that exact spot once. But I left 1 wing at home, and took one wing with me. Then I left the fuz at the field.

I have to admit that I have NEVER left my wings or stuff at home (knock on wood) but I was gettin ready to go to the field, and everything ready, and put the plane in the car. I put the radio n the back of the couch so I COULDN"T and WOULDN'T forget it....well I went to the field, and low and behold, that TX was still on the back of the couch and not at the field where I needed it.....I something think that when I do forget stuff, then that is like a sign or something that I shouldn't have flown that day anyways or something....!!.....

If you are referring to the video titled "BayeCrash", we were flying a contest called RC Bowling. The ball is tied to the back of a plane and this plane needed to be hand launched. Unfortunately, Jim didn't make it out of the way in time and the ball wrapped around his leg. He had a good sense of humor about the whole situation and so did we.
Thanks for looking!

I think that I might have to mention that bowling thing to the poeple at the field, I might do that in August, when we have our next fly-in......Talk to to the President and see if he might want to do that at the next fly-in after August( which is the giant scale fly-in) which will be in April or so (the one in April is the Fun-Fly)....I hope that he will do that.....

Could you might tell me how you made the pins, and what the ball is....I know of alot of people that fly that would love to do that with their planes.....

Iflynething,

The pins are cut from corroplast about 3 feet tall, they have aluminum angle bolted to the bottom which is then hinged to a platform. The CD of our event built this set from ideas he got on RCU or RCO forums. He went the extra mile to make a more elaborate set that would hold up for a long time and easy to transport. He also made a pin re-setting mechanism to reset the pins from the flightline.

You can search RCU for more info, but if you wish I will pass you on to the event's CD for specifics. I also have a video clip that shows the mechanism up close as well.

Oh man I wish I hade not seen that. I felt really sorry for that man. I mean, all he wanted to do was fly his plane for a while and he left the wing and then the fuse. The music does not help also...
