Get her a puppy! Trying to get the pooch house-trained is so time-consuming, and cleaning up after it is so aggravating that when you volunteer to take it to the shop/field, she'll pray to you for doing it.

HAHAHA what a funny topic! This sounds very familiar with most of my flying partners.. You have some options...

1, Get rid of her, airplanes wont yell, kick, slap, cheat, nag expect from you. bwahahah

2, Learn some new tricks for when you two are in the love shack.. That will help her to ease up on you every time you go flying.

3, Get her into the hobby.. Get an airplane and cover with pink, red, white, or just use the covers off playgirl magazines.

4, or you can do what I do.... brainwash her while she's sleeping ZZZzzzzzz "planes are the best thing ever" ZZZZzzzzzz "You will always accept them" ZZzzzzzzz "you have the best guy in the whole world" ZZZZzzzzzz "You will buy me a 40% Carden Cap232 for my birthday" ZZZzzzzzzz

You get the idea...

Believe me guys all this stuff works..

Good luck

I'm lucky, as my wife (#2) is also my best friend. She knew going into this marriage that this hobby has been a lifelong passion for me and recognizes the joy and satisfaction that it brings to my life. In fact, she worries about me if I'm not building or flying! She has no pesonal interest in this hobby, but has her own hobbies, that are just as important to her. Fortunately, she understands that we all need our own space to pursue the things that make us happy. We have no children, so there is plenty of time for us to spend quality time together, as well as hobby time. She thinks this is a great hobby!
Wife #1 called this a "stupid hobby" and would do just about anything to keep me out of the workshop, or away from the flying field. All she succeeded in doing was breeding resentment, which does not make for a healthy relationship. What I have learned is, If you really love someone, you will accept them for who they are, and support them in the things that make them happy....try to change them, or force your will upon them, and they won't be around for long.

And on the lighter side:

Women marry men, expecting them to change...and they don't,
Men marry women, expecting them to stay the same...and they don't.
Good Luck to all! Nigel

My lovely wife doesn't care for RC much but she's glad that I love it. She is always understanding of my wants and needs in the hobby, and we do spend quality time together.....we were at a Resturant the other night and this woman kept staring at me all during dinner, so as we got up to leave I walked over to her table and ask her if she knew me, because she had been staring at me for so long. She said "you look my 5th husband" and I said my goodness, youv'e been married 5 times and she said "no....just 4 times.

After I left my first wife, I had a T-shirt made that says:

"My ex-wife hates airplanes"

Get's lots of laughs at the flying field and the airport!

Try to work with her, if she will not join you in your venture then try to get her into something that she can do by herself. I encourage my wife to spend time with her friends so I can spend time with mine. It seems to work out and she gets to vent some steam with her friends. If she has no interests and does not want any, then she needs to understand that you do! Don't give up on your flying or your wife, try to work things out. By the way, we don't call them airplanes, we call them "Divorce Kits In A Box"!

M wife flew my H9 Aspire today, she loved it. Maybe even to much. Out of 9 flights I got one. Guess I will have to tell her if she is going to take all the stick time on this one I will have to get anther. (bigger and better of course, can't be out done by the lady of the house, thats just not right.)

I gave mine the choice 12 years ago..... spend time and money on planes and flying with the boys, or spend time and money at the bar with the girls..... I have ~150 planes and she helps build them.

Well it seems like we all have our ways of dealing with the wives. Luckily i am not married but do have a girlfriend that supports my flying. She looks at it this way at least I am not in a bar.Fortunately my work allows me to fly during the week. On the weekends i fly also but usually take her to dinner and a movie on Fridays. The only thing she gets mad about is when i am building a plane it is in the living room as no other room in the house is big enough or to full of stuff. She had to put up with a 60 size stick in front of the TV for a couple of weeks and I just ordered the 120 size stick so that ought to liven things up a bit LOL.

I can offer one last piece of advice on this one... Very early in the relationship after a particularly bad brow beating over the time I spent on the planes I made a statement that did not work as planned.... I told her I was doing planes before I was doing her so get used to it...I didn't get to do her for awhile LOL. It seemed very funny to me at the time and I think me laughing at her was the worst.
