Josh, I also think you have made your mind up on the Aerohawke. I see good advice here, but you keep coming back to the Aerohawke !!! The HBird is probably one of the best, the others are all a Chinese knock off. BUT... as knock off's go, they are all pretty good. I supply the E-Sky here in Australia, and spend about 15 minutes per helicopter setting them up before I ship out. The Quality is quite good (and I suspect I speak for all the mini heli's here), just the rush job on assembly is a problem (ie... inverted motor cables, servo arms not centred, etc...). The biggest problem I get is unlevel swashplates. The heli's just want to go left/right/back or forward depending on which servo arm is out. Its a real simple fix, but someone who has never flown one will be quite frustrated. My advice.... buy one with lots of local spares support. My biggest problem now is keeping up with the spares request (for every heli I sell, I end up with so many spares requests its silly). While you are learning, be prepared to go through heaps of tail rotors, plenty of skids, the occasional main blade, eventually the tail motor, and if you are really unlucky, may fry a 3-in-1. I get people knocking on my door (I sell from home) all weekend after tail blades. They buy two... go home, and that afternoon are back for more !!! Now... imagine your Aerohawke has come from HK. You break a part and there is no local support. Kiss flying goodby for a week or two.
