I just bought a PAW .09 (British). Only ran it on the test stand, but WOW!!!. Yea it stinks but you can mix your own fuels using scented lamp oil known as paraffin (high grade kerosene). On the test stand with a Zinger 7.5 x 5 wood she will turn up 11, 250 rpm, and thats with a 3' piece of automotive fuel line hooked to the muffler. With a Master Airscrew 8 x 4 composite she will turn up to 12,120 rpm and that's with the same carb and compression settings. It surprised me and I still don't understand it. And as far as idle, I forgot to take a reading but with the Master prop she will idle down so low it doesn't even sound like it's running. Transitions nice too. At first I had to use an electric starter because I didn't know what I was doing. After an hour of playing around I realized that if the engine is cooled down, primed correctly and with the compression lever turn down 1/8 turn, the damn thing will start on the first flip. Oh yea, be sure to get that finger out of the way QUICK. It hurts. After some tests flights in the near future and everything works fine, I plan to buy a larger diesel or convert an old Fox .45 ringed engine. No one at my field flies diesel therefore I won't get all that crazy contradictory advice from the old farts. Keep the wings level. Dr. Wine
