I have 4 new 5945s (purchased new over the last 6 months) on my WildHare Extra. When they are moved a small amount or moved slowly (i.e. with the servo cycle function on the Futaba 9C radio), you can hear and see them step instead of moving smoothly. Once they are in position, there is no jitter at all. You can see the same behavior with the control surface disconnected from the servo, and everything is set up with rocket city horns and ball links with no binding, etc. Is this normal? It looks a bit like I am seeing the discreetness of something digital, but I just want to make sure that something isn't wrong here. The elevators are set up for 40 degrees of deflection, so small steps of the servos are very noticeable. It is barely noticeable on the ailerons (30 degrees deflection). Also, I also have the issue where one of the servo isn't as tight as the other 3 (it may be the one purchased separately 6 months ago), and when power is removed one aileron drops down. The other surfaces stay in place. Should I be concerned?? The JR8611 I have on the rudder (45 degrees deflection) seems much smoother.

Thanks,
Fred

Fred, try setting your D/R to max of 140% for the best resolution. Then use the ATV to fine-tune the surface throws so they are equal in both directions. Simple and works for me

Thanks. I already have the endpoints set pretty far out, so I am using much more than the normal servo travel already. It could be that these servos just have a tighter control loop than I am used to, so they can see the individual steps of the PCM radio or their own internal A/D converters (or whatever they use) connected to their pots.

Does anyone else see this with 5945s? If you have lots of expo you can see it around center as well..

Thanks,
Fred
