    cousingrandpa,

I started buying aluminum parts for my savage as well as a new .27 Sirio engine. I had a crazy (crazy expensive) idea. I had almost enough parts to build an all metal savage. I decided to start building a second truck. My question to you is one of performance. How does your beast perform? I plan on keeping the truck on road. Any feedback is appreciated.

In my opinion, if you build an all metal savage it will weigh a crap load, but thanks to your sirio it will still perform very well.
I still am waiting for an answer as to what those shocks were with the hooks at the top.

Those hooks at the top are oil reasivors. If my memory serves me well, there is only one kind of shocks that have working resevoirs. The rest are just for show.

    Cousingrandpa,

I was in the midst of buying a bunch of aluminum parts for my Savage till I looked @ all the metal I had accumulated. I decided to build a new aluminum Savage from scratch using only the finest materials. So far I have bought everything except for electronics & transmission. I have a new Sirio .27 Racer waiting to be installed. How does your truck drive with all the aluminum? Do you have any recommendations? How is the durability of the metal during a crash? All feedback is appreciated.

What do shocks with oil reservoirs do and which ones work?
Also how much do they cost, on average.

integy has real reservoir shocks. so does cen, on the genesis. the only ones i know of that are fake are the associated units on the mgt. most everyone else has the sense to make them real or don't make them.

oil reservoirs work by the rod going into the shock pushing the oil into the reservoir allowing the rod to go further into the shock
for more suspension and to soften the impact when you land your big savage or enother car

here is a pic of the shocks and the cost

    i hore it helps you
