Okay, I know I made this promise already in Feb 2005, then I kept quiet on the subject for some years (for obvious non-building reasons), but after spending this last x-mas in Sweden, sitting down with Nils, he promised, with dry eyes and not blinking, that bird will fly in 2009...

<sigh>to be continued....

Well, almost x-mas again, and I'm afraid it is safe to say that the bird will not fly this year... (sorry... )

Nice plane. It is huge. It makes the prop and engine look small. Are you sure that is enough HP?

Personally I have the same doubt. claim is that it should be big enough, but it does look tiny. It's a ZDZ 160 cc of (they claim) 17-18 hp. Be patient, we'll find out (one day...)

New look for the 401B. I call it a AT 201. Shame AirTractor never built this plane.

Sorry for the late reply. The project is halted in a big way. We lost contact with our friend some 2 years ago, also the airfield is under different management now. Lot of stuff has moved, I am not sure what happened to the plane, it might still be there. will check. The change that it will fly anytime soon is slim to none.

(builders are still alive though )

Here is a build link from Canada for a 22% Air Tractor that is a Kit from AMR - not quite the 30% but still a really big plane and Yes it was completed and Yes it did fly!
(it is a VERY Friendy build with lots of comments, the builder was also pushing to lighten the plane as much as possible which made for a very high performance AC - quite an interesting adventure!)
