The only thing that concern me is the engine that you intend to use, it is a bit too big. I'm a freak of over power but not of over weight, you see?

Didnt I hear that the plane the was slightly over sized from a standard 40 sized profile? If so that YS shouldnt be a problem at all. Shoot we run YS63's, Saito 83's and even Saito 100's on our profiles here in the States.

Whats the AUW on your finished bird? Good looking bird by the way!

I think the YS is only about 17.5 oz. I put it on because it was on my Burrito which I crashed (twice) sunday and it needs minor repairs. If it is too heavy, I will put my Webra on it. It's only about 15 oz and has the same mounting dimensions as the YS. This plane is really light and I think I'll come out less than 4.25 lb. It has almost 800" wing area, so I do'nt forsee any weight issues with the YS. I did'nt work on it much last night, but will try to get it finished today.

Paul................I would be honored.

I am working on getting the days off, as of now it's a probability. BTW the burro is not too bad a header from 50' up and only some cosmetic damage, nothing structural.

Shawn............

Where is the CG on this bird and what's the recomended range?

Will maiden her tomorrow After the first flight I will take it to the bodyshop scale and weigh it. My guess is 4lb even dry. Maybe less

Hi William

The CG of the Bad Boy is slightly back from the black strip on the wings. Don't worry too much about that because the Bad Boy is very forgivable plane so even when the CG is not perfect it is very easy to control and change it in next flight.

Anyway I'll work it out exactly for the instruction manual.

Yep, on the spar...............

I was thinking that was prolly it. I have it balanced 3/4" behind it No lead and a 700MAH NMH 5cell with the YS on the front and an 8 oz tank. Feels like sub 4 pounds.

Im putting together a bad boy at the moment and hoping to have it ready for the weekend. I only have 1 problem at this stage, how did you get the wires from the tail servos in to the wing? Is there a hole in the fuse for this? If so where is it? A picture would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Trent

I made a small hole in the bottom of the fuse and fished the wires up and out the hole already cut where the wing root is. I do'nt know how much (if any) it weakened the fuse, but it's a clean install.

Shawn..........Chime in on this one if you will

Flew it this morning..............

PA's website says the Bad Boy is easy to hover.......Well, they are right I have'nt yet got the hovering thing down, but will get there quicker with this plane. When you put it into a hover, everything happens slower than with my other planes.
This plane flys really light and has good manners. I only flew once, as the wind was already starting to gust at 7:30 am, but it was a long flight at about 15 min. I never switched on high rates, but the low rates are set at 25-30 degrees and high closer to 50.
I tried some knife edge flight and it did great, hardly any rudder needed, but the wind was blowing it toward me either way I went, so I do'nt know if there will be any coupling issues.
Inverted flight required only the slightest down elevator, so I am assuming I have the balance just about right.
The plane does awesome tight loops and has no tendancy to snap at the top, next time I fly, I will switch on the high rates to see just how tight I can get them.
Rolls are good and the ailerons are powerful in high alpha flight (something I am not too good at yet)
This plane makes me look better than I am. The whole time I was assembling the plane and during the flight, I kept thinking gosh, this thing is soo light, so I took it to work with me and weighed it on a digital paint scale in the body shop. When the numbers stopped blipping around, it read 1753.5 grams. I think that comes to 61.96 ounces and 3.87 pounds. This does'nt seem possible, but the paint scale does'nt lie! 28.3 grams/oz and 16 oz/lb

Good to hear dude! Glad you enjoyed it. A 46 should really bring the beast out in that thing. This plane looks like it will fill a nice gap in the market if it 3Ds ok.

Am I doing my math wrong? or is this bird just that light. When I pick it up, it feels like sub 4lb.

Dion.........

This is a great plane and in the hands of a compitent pilot, I think it will do everything that PA claims. If I make it to Tenn in july, we will find out, as Swaney really wants to violate it The only concern I have is how will it hold up to the not so perfect landings and light turf dances.

Well I'm just wondering what the new Mods are going to be for the next version.

Nova, what will it do that sets it apart from another profile?
