Hello all!

I have this P-47, it's a TF .60 with a .60 in it (may go to a .78/.90).

This will be my first attempt at glassing(a whole plane) and I need some help.
as you can see I need to get the rest of the covering off, all of the plastic is gone but the adhesive is still present. Or should I glass over it? (the sheeting is VERY thin in spots and was thinking of scrubbing it with acitone as best I can)

is there any alternatives to buying glass other than towers? are there any alternatives to glass cloth? I don't have a hobby store within an 80 mile radius and have to rely on Home depot. and Walmart. of the two HD hase 2oz? glass by the yard but I think that would be too heavy.

Any suggestions? please!!

Thanks in advance

john

Try CST at http://www.cstsales.com/home.htm They have a how to on glassing balsa and you'll need 1/2 to 3/5 oz cloth. Do not use the stuff from Wal Mart or Home Depot for covering, you'll have a brick. Remember, it's not just the weight of the glass, it's how much weight is it gonna add to fill the weave.

Absolutly correct, 2oz cloth would take a lot of primer and polyeurothane to fill, i have had good sucess with K&B .63oz cloth
