Put a top driver behind the worst car out on the track, and let him tune on it for awhile and I bet you that he would still beat everyone. It's all about your skill level. The car is one thing, but after that, if you do not know how to set it up right, it will always be a bad car for you. If your new, buy a RTR NTC3 or LD3 and just build from there. The RTR NTC3 can be upgraded till you run out of money. I'm not to sure about the LD3, I really don't see much of that car out here but it looks like a Super NTC3 with muscles. Serpents are real expensive when you consder the parts. Mugens are OK. The NTC3 are real affordable in my opinion. They break if you hit the wall but just don't hit the wall and don't push it past your driving abilities and stay away from the guys who take everyone out just to make a turn.

is that a kit or rtr? look if its a kit get a decent engine {os,picco, novamega, novarossi etc] and a decent radio{futaba, airtronics,ko,jr,etc} if its a rtr the engine should be fine but upgrade to a fm radio. and remember THERE IS NO "BEST CAR" FOR RACING, and read mgreens post a third time!

also i would like to not recommend the traxxas 4-tec for racing just because the handling is really sacraficed with that car compared to other racing models. it is also very heavy wit its autostart device....to me that chassis doesnt pose as a racing one more of a basher if anything...sure its a fast out of the box car but thats only bc they put a 2.5 on a chassis that should fit a .12......overpowered but a long shot

This is also true, the 4,tec is geared for top speed to appeal to rtr buyers, not a good racer.
