Weathering looks good. A technique I might try on mine is to use a scotch brite pad vertically on the fuselage, chordwise on the wing. This has been suggested by Sean McHale that he used on a most excellent BT Spitfire he built. Can't remember the web address now, but do a search.

Anything looks better than that fresh paint that they come with. So how did you do it??

Quite basic really. 6b pencil into panel lines, then rubbed.
Wings were more touble as no panel lines, so a light shading of 6b pencil along the leading edge, then 3in1 oil over the pencil, then smudged down the wing, then dabbed off with a cloth.

Hope you like! I suggest you do it, it makes 'em look completely different

Dave

"SJN"- hows it going with the ZERO??
Nice pics.!
Thinking about getting this one. How do you like the way the ZERO is made?
Is the covering iron on fabric or monokote type??
Have you had a chance to fly it yet??
Keep us posted...

Hi....I have been working, so not too much spare time to finish the Zero.

Im satisfied with the way it is built. All the wooden parts (wing, formers, horiz. tail) are laser cut, so the guys building these things cant get it wrong :-) Glass work is great. Couldn`t have done it better myself :-)
The covering is monokote type, and painted. The paint chips off if you bang it into walls and stuff. :-) But I have some Humbroll paint that almost matches, so its not a big deal. The monokote undernieth, is clear "colored".

For the price of this kit, you cant go wrong.

Looking forward to get it in the air!

Many thanks for posting such detailed photos on this thread.

I have plans to aquire a GSP Zero (sold as CM-PRO down under) shorlty and your pics have given me a very god insight as to what to expect.

A local R/C mag did a review on one. They used an OS .91 FX, and fitted the same retracts as you have. They found that the OS. 91 was more than sufficient.

One comment I can make.

Haven't ARF's come such a long way in the past 10 years. I doubt whether you could buy a kit, build it, fit it out and get the paint finish, for the price that this model can be bought for.

Please give us a full report on your test flight program.

THANKS "SJN"!!!!! Thanks for spending time to take the pics.
You were a Very Big help.
I wanted to ask you, your black COWL for your ZERO has 2-molded indents on the top for the guns, is one indent longer then the other???
Mine as one indent on the left shorter( by 1/2" ). Just wanted to see if yours is the same?
I plan on using a WEBRA 1.20 2-stroke for power.
The Saito 4-stroke you got will be fine in the ZERO and sound great.
I like have a little over power eng.s in my warbirds.
Keep up the post on the ZERO.
