Mike James -> Typical weight of 15% glow fuel per fluid ounce? (7/11/2002 2:24:09 PM)

Hi,

Couldn't find this in the "FAQ", but it would help me with a design problem to know...

What is the typical weight of 15% glow fuel, per fluid ounce?
Thanks!

Well if I'm to take this literally it's almost exactly .9 ounces/fluid ounce based on methanol's SG of .796, nitro with 1.13 and oil being somewhere close to methanol.

Thank you, Downunder!

I heard somewhere that 30% nitro fuel is virtually 1 oz/ floz, with higher nitro being heavier.

When you think about it its a lot, the fuel load on takeoff of my pattern model is about 10% of the total weight :)

Thanks Chad!
