casipak,
Have you received your motor heat sinks yet? Where did you order them? Are they the clip-on type similar to aerohawk's? Spare parts for Jabo2 aren't widely availible in the US and they are expensive too. The only spare parts I've seen so far for Jabo2 are only the main and tail blades. Getting a diffirent helicopter is similar to switching to a new part supplier. I still haven't decided yet, but I'd give Jabo2 more consideration than other helis. Have you tried upgrading your main motor to a johnson250 motor similar to what justin_92_92 has?

justin_92_92,
What are the capacitor values did you use for soldering on your johnson250 main and tail motors? And how many capacitors for each motor? GWS website mentioned about soldering 3 capactiors on a motor for super rf suppression. I think GWS's suggestion is only for GWS particular motors and it doesn't apply to johson250 motor in this case. Am I correct?

Yeah I have received my heatsinks. They clip on pretty easily but the main motor gets a little warmer than what I expected. I ordered these from raidentech from parts for aerohawk.

Justin suggested going to allerc.com to get a big main motor heatsink and then buy the aerohawk heatsink combo for the tail motor. But I didn't listen so I just bought the aerohawk heatsinks for both my motors. I might buy the bigger one later.

No I haven't tried upgrading the main motor yet, but I will later.

I think jabo2 is a clone of hummingbird or whatever, ask justin he knows this sclone stuff so the parts for hummingbird might work with jaob but I am NOT sure.

Johny: I used 104 capacitors I bought from my local Radioshack (.1uF)... 3 for main (Johnson 250) and 1 for tail. I've had my motor on probably 40 packs and it's still working great. It helps to spray some WD40 inside from time to time...
As for Jabo II, it is a HB clone and most of the parts should be interchangeable. And IMHO the parts are relatively cheap.. depending on who you buy it from. I found this website http://zhyk.com.cn/e_lingpeijian1.htm
where the parts are REALLY cheap but haven't ordered from them yet.

Shard:

If you place an order let me know how. There is no order info on that site. That is the ZhenHua web site they make the JABO.

Unfortunately at this time I don't have any needs for spare parts (pretty well stocked ) and I haven't tried bying parts from the above website yet (mainly cause it sounds complicated ). I have contacted them to get the payment info and this is the reply I got:

"You can remmit the money to the following account:
Remitting Bank :Beijing Road Subbranch Jilin City Branch Bank Of China
Account :220203570127212
Beneficiary :SUN FENG YING
ID No. :220203570127212
Tel. :0432-2488334

As soon as we get your payment, we will deliver the goods to you.
And please tell us your detail address.
Thank you
Kind regards
Sincerely Guoqiang Zhao"

I hope it's ok to put this info on here..?
Please let us know the details (shipping time, etc.) if you decide to order from them. I would definitely rather pay $5 for an extra battery vs. $12 I paid before.

The problem will be shipping charges. They could amount to more than the part and I have no idea how to remit the money to that account and that could cost you allot too.

I got the Jabo2 and was surprised to find out it was much better constructed than an aerohawk. It came with a serial cable for FMS. Everything works perfect. It has a bit more torque(may it 's brand new), more reliable, and $45 cheaper than an aerohawk.

Which mAh of Ni-MH rechargable batteries should we use for the Jabo2's PCM transmitter?...like 1600mAh or 2200mAh, & etc. I'm using this brand, Varta, alkaline, $0.99 for a pack of 4 AAs from the 99 Cents Store. I just want to use the rechargeble batteries.

Sorry but I can't be of much help on the battery question but I'll ask someone who lives near me.
Good luck with ur heli!

A warning to all who are thinking of buying for any none-English (or any language you can't speak/read/write).

How do you plan to write the return address if you need to send it back for any reason? If you are sending it back to China you better write the destination address in Chinese or good luck getting it delivered.

I do own a Heli made in China too. When I bought it from Ebay, the supplier's address was Chicago, IL. But it was shipped from California, turns out it is the same seller but had different ebay IDs. This Heli was of course manufactured in China.

My Heli btw is a Lama XRB converted to RC. I do not know who the manufacturer of my Tx and Rx are. There are no distinguishing marks I could find. The Heli can fly but it totally sucks. It always wants to fly backwards. And this is even after I've adjusted trim to the max. I even tried shifting CG to the front of the Heli and still no help. Everything is integrated into one Rx board. Ex the servo's electronics is on the Rx board so there is no way to swap a standard servo in its place. Same with the Tx, it's based on a single Microcontroller. I had to add my own component to the Tx to stop the heli from going backwards. This was because the manufacturer removed < $0.50 of trimmers to cut cost.

JonnY2004, you don't need to worry about mAh rating of the batteries you want to use in the transmitter. You'll only need high mAh rating if your Tx is very advanced ie color LCD screens, memory etc. I use NiMH in my Tx and there is no performance penalty from the reduced voltage (8 alkaline = 12V, 8 NiMh = 10V) because the voltage is regulated down to 5V before it gets used by the Tx. I suspect your Jabo Tx does something similar too.

Jabo comes with ZhenHua radio ( PCM ) . E-sky comes with futaba-compatible Esky Radio. I fly my e-sky with my T6XHs. The heli provides an interface (that acts like a dongle ) for simulator that is a lot better and more realistic than FMS.
