I'm sure you did.. but did you rough up the metal joiner?
I used 80 grit and rough it up real good... then clean with denatured alcohol
don't give up on the mig ... my second one is better than the first

How are you routing your antenna? The instructions say not to route it through the fuselage but the two I've seen did...

I ran mine through the fuselage close to the receiver. I ran the antenna down the lower side of the fuselage with clear tape. Looks good. Lasts a long time. I have had no problems with this installation.

You're not insulting me because it's my friend that's doing it, but yes he has the battery as far forward and in the plane as it will go. After reading a lot of posts on the competing web site, RC(X), it turns out that with a light battery like he has, a 1200mA 20C norm discharge called Twenty from Hobby Lobby that weighs 3.6oz most people had problems with tail heaviness. If you use a 4-4.5oz pack like a 2200 people got good balance. a 1/2oz to me is a lot for a 16oz plane. Thanks for the input!

your dead on..
I have a 2220 pack... so that explains it
I wasn't to happy with the added weight.. but I built two and that what they both took to balance...
the first one I added no noseweight on the maiden and it shot straight up..
I was lucky to get it to the ground in one piece... after I added the weight it flew great..

Hi guys, I built my wing as some of the others have suggested. I noticed that there seems to be some anhedral (negative dihedral) to the wing. Is this normal? I followed others suggestion... setting the wing incidence with the leading edge in the center of the moulded wing seat and the trailing edge at the upermost of the moulded seat.

Thanks for everyone's hints and advice. It is a big help as the directions leave a lot to interpretation.

Brian

Mine did for sure, used CF tubes down the inside of wing - slid them on the metal joiner and probably dribbled ? toooo much epoxy down the CF tubes without servo battery or anything inside cockpit, it took 133 Gms of lead solder in the nose , to bring the CG bit nose heavy

As you well know, this plane is a blast to fly. I could not be happier with it. I got 3 great flights in on Thursday.

I had heard that some of the models were coming up tail heavy, so I moved the esc and receiver as far up in the nose as I could. Some people are using a heavier battery to help get the CG right, but I'm using the very light TP 1320 and didn't have an issue getting the CG right on. Even had room to move the battery further up if need be.

I set the wing incidence with the leading edge in the center of the moulded wing seat and the trailing edge at the upermost of the moulded seat. For the tail, I pretty much followed the moulded seat, with maybe the leading edge just slighty above, but not very much at all. The maiden didn't need much trim at all, so this worked out well for me.

Can't wait to get my Mig back in the air, hopefully the weather will cooperate this weekend.

Safe landings,
Brian

I have about about 8 flights on mine now. I bought everything that Hobby Lobby recommends. I used a JR micro flight pack with my 10x transmitter. I use the Twenty battery all the way forward and mine balances perfectly with no added weight. My all up ready to fly weight is 15.5 ounces.
I got a flight in today on it and we clocked it at 52 MPH with a radar gun. Not bad for a plane that light and small.
It's a real crowd pleaser at the field and flies like it's on rails.

Anyone know what size , those 3 nylon bolts are ? that hold the Fuse to tail section? Thought I better go over mine this PM , before going to field - the two top nylon seemed a bit loose when i tried to snug em up - Hmmm so took it apart , to put some CA in the wood - to harden it up , after drying, ran the bold/screw back in and out - seemed OK , til I put it back togeather and found the nylon were just turning freely in the wooden bulk head -will have to plug the holes and re-tap them out ....te
