Yes, you can thread carbon rod or tube. However, you're usually better off just epoxying a concentric rod or sleeve to the end since, as Evan said, carbon is brittle. What's more, the fibers are cut in the threading process, so there isn't much holding the threads in place... they will be weak. That all said, I have threaded the ends of carbon rod pushrods and screwed metal clevises onto them. It worked, but now I just make custom ends and epoxy them. It can be as simple as a bent piece of music wire, with the joint epoxied and wrapped with Kevlar thread. -David
