I purchased 2 new cans of fuel about a month ago, both are in the new steel cans and both are batch number 2970. I could not get my YS 91 fz to run at all on this fuel. It was so bad I thought it was an engine problem so I sent the engine to YS. They did a few updates to the engine and sent it back to me. When I received the engine it still wouldnt run I tried both new cans of fuel with same results. So I sent the engine back to YS again. Richard called and said it runs perfect for him.

So today I went to fly my cap with an os91fx on it and the OS ran just like the ys did. It would barely run at all. So a fellow flier let my try some fuel from a different manufacturer and the os ran perfectly.

Has anyone else had this problem?

Hello,

I had nothing but grief with a YS-63 for about 3 weeks. Tried everything 3 glow plugs, new regulator spring, new gaskets, cleaned regulator and carb numerous times. I eventually changed fuel and once I set the motor up basically same as delivered it ran flawlessly. Guess what Powermaster YS20/20 batch 2970.

Lenny.

I just ran a gallon of Powermaster YS 20/20 fuel through my brand new YS FZ91 mounted on a test stand, and the engine performed beautifully, even at a super rich setting with the glow driver disconnected.

I called Powermaster and told them about the problem. They were very friendly and asked all about the problems I was having.

They said they had not heard of any problems with this batch number and said it was a huge batch of fuel.

Within a few days I received a check in the mail from Powermaster for a full refund for the fuel!!!! They didnt even want me to ship the bad stuff back to them for inspection.

I have had really good luck with Powermaster products, this was the first. I must have been one of the unlucky few to get a couple of bad gallons.

I am very impressed with Powermaster customer service. I will continue to use Powermaster products in the future.

I bought a case (6 gallons) of this stuff at the Nats this year. Sure enough...Batch 2970. I have a NIB YS 63 ready to fly in a little while on my Laser Models Laser 3D. What should i do? I ran this batch once on an OS 40FS (4-stroke) and it ran like ****. It ran better on some Omega 15%, but the bearings were bad on the engine anyway, so it had a variable. I have a YS 91 at work, i'll run it there i guess to see what it does.
Hey Richard L., is you batch #2970 ? if it is, maybe only certain ones are bad in the batch (which doesn't make any sense considering that they were all in the same BATCH). Or is this another batch and you just are saying that all batches aren't messed up. At work, i run Byron YS 20/20 fuel, it seems to be good. But it has not been compared to any other brand, so i dont know if it is better than any other brand.
What should i do?

I believe the problem was not the entire batch of fuel. I really think the problem was from the change back to the metal cans and getting a few of them that were not air tight. Either the can or the lid for the can. I have a case of fuel from that batch and have had no problems what ever with any of it...

just my $0.02 worth

That's good to know as I have some from that same batch... I'll wager that we got them from the same place...
