Well, my new tires arrived in the mail today and they are exactly what I was hoping for. By the pictures you can tell they are quite large. The tire shown for comparison is an IMEX G-Hawg tire at 4.75" tall and 2.25" wide.

These are CEN MT2 tires BTW . I should get my wheel wideners in the mail on Tuesday or Wednesday (.75" wider for each axle side) and those Clods and TXT's better watch out

I got them from www.rcmodels.com

They are part number FF035

Basically they are 5.25" tall and 3" wide if you leave the rims stock. I actually just narrowed mine down by about 1/3" or so, which made them 2.75" wide. They are a pretty heavy tire, but are nice and soft for climbing. I may try a little tread cutting to get the best traction out of them.

Mine went for a dip, not a swim . It was halfway submerged in the water when it fell off of a rock. I moved all of my main electronics to the back so the only thing that got wet was the front servo and the battery.

If you ever have a chance to get up here there will be plenty of people to crawl with.

As for rocks, you could always build your own rock garden. All you need to do is purchase a bunch of rocks from a rock quary or hardware store and build it up in your back yard. I'm trying to talk my wife into that currently . She want's a patio, I want a rock garden, I'm thinking both.

We are getting a in ground pool and Im thiking of beach style with a gradual slant and then a big drop so I can take my clod swiming and not have to get all the mud out of the tires when done!I'm also thinking of a natrual like waterfall so I can crawl all around it and still be a make shift diving board

They are 2.2" tires, but do not come with their own wheels. The ones I have are HPI Super Star MT wheels.

If you were to pick up these tires, I suggest you cut your rims down a little to narrow them up a little. The pictures show are before I narrowed my rims. This brought the overall tire width down from 3" to 2.75".

so that you have more tire for grip, if you use the stock tires it stretches the tire more so there isn't a lot of tire to "grip and Hug" the rocks, but then again you can always slice the tires so they compress a little, I'm not running foams in mine.

The biggest reason to cut the rims with the TLT is that the tires are 3" wide, which makes clearance when turning minimal. Cutting the rims down .25" gives more room on the inside of the rim/tire combo so you are not hitting links or shocks.

Also cutting the tires rounds the tire out a little. This gives better side bite to the tread pattern and works better for climbing in the rocks. I've also cut the tires a little which softens the overall tire a little and gives wider spacing so you can hook onto rocks better.

My wheel wideners came in the mail today , which gives me a 1.5" wider stance than a normal TLT. I only got about 5 minutes on them before I broke an axle (it's been abused a lot from climbing in the rocks ). I had to order a new axle and belt (it's skipping on me a lot now) and I should have the parts in by friday or saturday and get in a good test session with the widened wheels this weekend.
