Will put in a vote fro the Gee-Bee floats have there Sea Hawk with them and take lot of beating are very old and seem real durable.Mine do have a small balsa wedge glued ahead of the step assume it is to help break out of the water.

I use the Gee Bees on my Sig LT-40 and they work great and they're tough as nails. With a .46 FX up front it moves out nicely. They're around $40 with the mounting hardware. I painted them gloss white and they also look fairly good.

Try to find some BJ Floats. My sources tell me they are out of business, but your local hobby shop may have inventory. These are styrofoam, with a nearly-scale shape and slight v-bottom. GeeBee floats are blow-molded polyethylene and they won't rot, but i've never been very impressed with them...IMO, not very efficient, heavier than they should be. If you really get stuck, email me the dimensions and I will cut you some foam floats.

Don't know when BJ Float production stopped. There's very little about them on the internet, so it may have been a coupla' years back. Get on the phone to your hobby shops and see what they have. It's not hard to make your own with a bandsaw and some Home Depot insulation foam. I sheet mine with balsa,( Ply at the impact points) and cover them with monokote. Others fiberglass theirs and paint them. I have a 5-year old set of BJs in the garage that have been on 4 planes. They have been durable.
