Got a question...I have early 5475's that seem to work fine w/ a 5 cell pack. A friend just got some newer ones (sticker says V. 1 03) that work for a half a minute, then just "shut off" and stop working.
Is it that the 5475's should only be used with a 4 cell rx. pack? Thanks, Tom.

6.0V is not a problem with these or any Hitec servos to the best of my knowledge...

Please expand on your friends problem, i.e., what were the circumstances, batteries, regulators, installed or not.

Thanks...I was just bench testing w/ a 5 cell pack that measured 6.6 V. no load, and they worked fine for about half a minute, then nothing, just like the switch was shut off. No regulator though, is that the problem? It doesn't seem as though 6.6 V. should be too much...
I'm wondering if there was a change made or something? I notice that there are specs for the torque @ 4.8 V. but none for 6 V.

This does not sound right... the best thing to do is send them in and let us check them out.

Mike.

Regulators are NOT required, however they can introduce failure modes, thus the question.

Something is wrong, as Mike suggested return the servos to Hitec for a look see.

Is just one servo acting up or are multiple servos? Mulltiples would cause me tol look at other things.

Thanks guys...They all quit at the same time, but when I substituted a 4 cell pack, they all started working again...I'll tell my buddy about this thread (because they're his servos) and we'll figure out what we're gonna do...Once again, thanks! Tom

Well guys, I feel kinda foolish, but I found the problem...I read (somewhere on RCU) about cycling a new switch to "burnish" the contacts a little? Well, when I tested w/ the 4.8 v. pack, it was w/o the switch. When I tested the 5 cell pack w/o the switch things worked fine. So, I cycled the switch a few dozen times to burnish it in, and now it works!
Anyway...Do you think it's nessessary to "burnish" a switch, or did we just get an "iffy" one?
(Think I'll get another new switch!) Thanks...
